What can I do next?

If this is unusual for you, I'd contact the dr. This happened to me once, and I was pregnant, just had a late ovulation.

If you've been under a lot of stress/sickness, etc. lately, that can delay ovulation, and thus your period. If not, I'd have the doctors do a blood test to make sure you're not pregnant, and go from there. Good luck.

I would wait another week. If you are under a lot of stress, its not uncommon for there to be a delay of up to 2 weeks.

I'd go to the doctor whenever you feel you might need confirmation.

Pregnancy tests can pick up increasing HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) levels quickly after conception. If you're 2 weeks late, they should be picking-up those levels. When I suspected both of my pregnancies, the OB/GYN office said the urine test I would take at home would be as effective as what they'd do in the office.

However, they may want to draw blood to test instead. My sister had 6 negative pregnancy tests with her middle child before one finally showed a positive pregnancy.

Good luck.

if you're stressed about something... it can keep your peroid from coming... i know this sounds strange, but relax in a hot bath with soothing music, put the idea of your period out of your mind for a couple of days... the worst that can be if you don't get your period, is a cyst or a double layer of period, like if you continued your pills to skip your period on purpose... so i seriously think it's stress... get a massage as well!

Usually the doctor won't see you until the second month, so I will wait couple more weeks to take another test. If your cycle is still hasn't come and the test is still negative, call the doctor...

At least another 2 more weeks. Did you know that it isn't always normal to have a period every month. Very few are regular. Anything can make late..... nerves for instance.

I too was once late. And, was going on a cruise. I took a test the day I left - negative. I enjoyed myself on the cruise (drank) and chalked up my nauseousness to seasickness. When I returned, and still had not started my period, I took another test - positive. So, sometimes it just takes time. Wait another week. Good luck.
