Hello everyone. This question is particularly for San Antonio moms. I will be celebrating my birthday next weekend and my husband will actually have the night off so... I am looking for a kid friendly restaurant (ie playscape, outdoor running room) that also serves drinks (ie. margaritas, dacquiries). Don't worry, my husband is the designated driver, we never drink and drive, especially with our kids. This will actually be my first drink out in about 10 months. I just want to be able to enjoy a good meal and a cocktail w/ some friends for my big day and also have my kids entertained. Don't really care what type of food is served. We like most everything, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, burgers, b-b-q. So please send in your suggestions.
Thanks.
L. K

So What Happened?

Thanks moms for your suggestions. I chose Perico's on Sontera. It has a patio and playscape. The kids had a blast w/ their friends and so did my husband and I. I actually got to have three cocktails within the course of three hours. My husband drove. It'll probably be another year before it happens again. I think I'll try the suggested places anyway on our future family dinners out. Momaks sounds especially interesting.
Thanks again.

Check out Momak's Backyard on Jones Maltsburger. I haven't brought my children there yet, but they have a play area for the kids, it is clean and fenced in. It is easy to see the play area from where are sitting. Look at their website, hope this helps. They do serve beverages.

Momaks is a great place. Very casual. I think they only serve beer though. If at all. Want something a little classier, La Hacienda on Redland has a playscape and a full bar, even live music on certain nights. There is also a place on Sonterra by 281. Forgot what it's called, but I saw a playscape there too and I'm sure it serves alcohol. Happy Birthday :)

Purple Garlic on Austin Highway... they have a huge sand-box in the back and the food is Italian-American. Very kids friendly.

Chacho's on Perrin Beitel and 410 or Joes Crabshack on 410 and Evers I think.. both have play areas.. Joes is an outdoor playground, Chacho's is and indoor huge tunnel thing like McDonalds.
Both have great food and drinks.

Joe's Crab Shack on 410 near Summit Parkway has an outdoor play area near the front of the restaurant. The food is good and they also offers mixed drinks. We take the grandkids there (8, 7 & 2-1/2) when they come to visit.
