Just got my hair brushed by my sweet, well-meaning two year old. If felt a bit odd, so I turned around and saw that I was being groomed with the dust-pan broom! I need a Clorox shower

Anyone want to share some stories about what your kid(s) have TRIED to do to be nice/sweet.

What can I do next?

When I broke my arm I put bags of frozen veggies on my shoulder and neck for swelling and pain. Now everytime I stub my toe or bump into something or say I have a headache my daughter runs to bring me a bag of frozen peas.

One time I was crying because someone important to me passed away. I thought my 1 year old was napping, but he woke up and came in. When he saw me crying (I wasn't "vocal", but sniffling and tearing up) he patted my knee and said "Sai" (his way of saying "sorry") and I laughed and said he didn't need to be sorry, he didn't do anything wrong. He smiled and walked away, but came back with his favorite blanky and bear to give me. I laid on the couch with him and we cuddled a little bit, with blanky and bear. It really did work on making everything better!
My oldest likes to brush my hair, but I always act like I need to go to the bathroom first and hurry up to get ALL tangles out before he gets to my head. He will rip the hair right out even though he thinks he's being sweet, if he catches a tangle! He also wants to rub my back like he sees daddy do, but his 4 year old hands aren't very strong, so he can't squeeze my shoulders. So I said "I know! You can practice your kung fu punches on my back.....can you do your sun punch? How about your moon punch? Hammer fist?" But as he's getting better at his martial arts, we had to stop that......surprising how much strength a little guy can punch with!
I love how the boys will go out in a field and pick flowers (weeds) for me, but instead of picking them by the stem, they pick them by the actual bloom. So I have little handfuls of falling apart dandelions and buttercups instead of flowers to put in a bud vase. Very cute though.

Yesterday I had an all day headache. No matter what I tried, the headache stayed on like someone who doesn't know when the party's over.

I said, "Oh, man!"

My 5 yo son said, "What's wrong, Mama?" I told him my head hurt. He said, "Well, when I was your age, mama, and I had a headache, the only thing that worked was to sit back, relax, and watch Wizard of Oz. Do you want to watch Wizard of Oz with me?"

Well, after that, of course I did! Who would say, "No"? Then when we had turned it on he said, "Do you want to hold my hand?" Well, of course I did!!

My headache never went away, but my heart sure felt great!

Even as they get older: my beautiful 14 yo decided she was going to make dinner all by herself last Friday. Except that I had to keep getting up because she kept asking me to double check what she was doing every 5 minutes. :)

Too funny! Mine tried to brush my hair with the dogs brush once! My oldest, when he was 3, was trying to help me clean and decided to scrub the toilet. I only found out b/c after cleaning out the toilet he carried the wet, dripping toilet brush through the entire house to find me to tell me :)

Aw! That's adorable. And inevitable. I got my hair brushed with the cat brush on more than one occasion. My personal fav was the first attempt to make me a mothers day breakfast. A sloppy spilling bowl of a cereal I would never eat, instant coffee in cold water! And a huge smile to make it all worth while!

I Could totally see that happening to me my two year old brings random objects over to me all the time and says "i want to play with your hair!"...she also gives me little "sassages" (massages) that actually sort of hurt.

My oldest makes me jewelry. It rarely fits and its actually quite hideous, lol. I wear it for minutes and then put it in my jewelry box. Maybe someday ill get her a professional kit and she will keep me in style!

My lil girl is 20 months so she tries so hard to put my flip flops on or tries to put her clothes on so she can go play outside
Also
She sees me scratch DH back and she tries to scratch it too but he says her lil fingers just tickle hehe
She tries to comb my hair after I comb hers but she does itfrom the bottom to the top so she makes me a tangled mess. She feels so proud after lol

the other day I was putting socks on my feet because my feet were cold. My 2 yr old is in the room with me but turns and races back down the hall. When he comes back he has my shoes. lol I guess he thought I needed those too.

My wonderful 2.5 year old spilled her peepee when dumping the contents into the big potty. In attempts to clean it up, she used the toliet bowl brush as a mop and spead peepee all over the bathroom floor. All of this in the 45 seconds it took me to walk to the back door and back to let our dog inside from the yard. My little helper loves to clean!

HAHA AWW!! So cute ;)

My almost 8 year old LOVES rubbing my feet ('Because you work so hard mom!)... well, my almost 2 year old has started removing my slippers or flip flops and makes the most adorable face, while squeezing my feet a few times... then he pats my leg and goes 'okay!'... AWW!!

My 6 year old tried to clean the bathroom sink once. I knew she was in there for a suspiciously long time, but let it slide because I wasn't feeling well that day. Finally, she came out, and tells me she has a surprise for me... she actually did a pretty good job, but because she's not allowed to use cleaning products without permission and wanted it to be a surprise, she used water and TOILET PAPER... which she tried to 'flush' down the drain... it was bad ;)

A few weeks after my mother passed away suddenly, a friend of her's sent a charm bracelet she made with charms that would remind me of my mom. Of course, I started bawling. My son came in and asked "What's wrong, Mommy? Is it GiGi?" I said "Yes." I told him, "I miss my mommy sometimes." And he replied, "I'll be your mommy!" He was only three at the time. Awwwwe!!

This morning while getting dressed I got a lovely two minute massage with lotion and hugs. He did REALLY good job UNTIL he wiped the left-over lotion all over the bed! He even said the same things I do when I rub his back. He even wanted to rub my tootsies. Awwwww.
