So the shoe question got me wondering, have you ever tried pot? I will admit that I tried it once, back when I was 17. My closest friends had been smoking it for years, but I just wasn't into the idea... but one day I decided what the heck, and gave it a try. My friends tried SOOO hard to get me high, but for some reason it just didn't work for me. All I got was the munchies. lol. The smoke itself burned my throat, and made my chest hurt so I have never felt any need try it again. How bout you? :)

P.S. NO judgments please... If you are going to have a holier-than-thou attitude about this, please just move on without answering. (Feel more than free to answer 'No' if you haven't, but please no "OMG That is illegal, I can't believe anyone would do that to their body, you should all be ashamed of yourselves" or similar answers.... Thanks! :)

What can I do next?

Yep I have tried it. I'm not ashamed to admit it. As a person with medical problems, I have to say it really helped.

I think that it's much better than getting hooked on pain pills, and various pharmacy drugs, and believe that it should be legalized.

Everyone has different reactions from it, and no one's body works or experiences things the same.

So to each their own.

I've smoked it here and there. Last time was when hubby and I first got together a few years ago. We would both smoke it regularly if it was legal. :)

Yup. When I was younger.
Now, I'm a fine, upstanding, Christian mom. I still drink wine and love a dirty martini. So, If it weren't illegal, and frowned upon, I'd probably be a pot head. It would be a lot less calories than alcohol. Unless you get the munchies. :) I will take this opportunity to say I believe it should be legalized. Great source of tax revenue! We could the money from the war on drugs to better use.

Yes!! maybe I should put a disclaimer as your former president Clinton said " I smoked but I didn't inhale " lol
Interesting fact is I spent a summer in America as a student (Cape Cod )and I was so surprised that it was easier to get pot than drink if you were under 21 yrs.

Funny question Mama !!
Brings back memories

I always had terrible cramps and upset stomach during and before my periods. The cramps were so bad a few time I fainted from the pain and low blood sugar. Having a little smoke always made me feel 100x better instantly. And it makes you hungry. I dont do it anymore because of the kids, but Id be lying if I said I didnt miss it a little. When I used to smoke, Id say I did about 2-3 times a month, and I never used any other drugs, that gateway drug theory is a crock.

Since this is JFF . . . I use pot almost every day. Its a real nice stainless steel pot set my mom left me when she passed away. Then my wife bought me a real nice aluminum alloy pot with a real heavy bottom that transfers heat evenly across the bottom and the entire pot. If I turn my gas stove on low, it works like a crock pot. I love my pot(s).

The closest I ever came to trying illegal pot was when I led the FBI to a man they were searching for that was smoking pot (and drying more in a clothes dryer). The room was cloudy with pot smoke. I have inadvertently used a realtive of pot when I was burning trash and placed an old rotting hemp rope on the fire.

I have never used anything that would take over my brain and not let me be in charge.

Good luck to you and yours.

Yes. It can be fun, honestly, and it is super less harmful than being drunk. It doesn't HAVE to hurt at all, you may have inhaled too hard.

I was never one to do it habitually or anything and I have not done it in YEARS...

Yep.... I sure did. I was exposed to it very early, the first time I got high was when I was 7, I had eaten brownies at an adult party. After that, I started smoking it infrequently when I was about 14 and was a daily user for about 6 years in my late 20s. Obviously, I quite liked it but stopped completely when I found out I was pregnant. I likely wont ever smoke again, not because I didnt like it but because I did and dont want to put myself in a situation that would impare my parenting. My kids have never been exposed to it in any fashion.

yes have to say i used to be a regular partaker in the herb! but i also held a job and did all of the things a responsible adult does. i meet my bf a few years ago and he didnt really care for it, so i no longer smoke. cant say i miss it and it was easier to quit that than it was to quit smoking cigs!! i also believe that it is better than drinking and a very good medicinal medicine!

No . . . never. That being said I think it's ridiculous that it's illegal when there are much more hard-core drugs (profitably made by pharma) that are legal and acceptable to society.

Never have because I was a smoker and I kind of have a food addiction, so I decided I didn't want to try something else to get addicted to.
I've also heard that it gives you the munchies, so I really don't need the extra "motivation" to eat LOL.

Sure.

When I got out of the military I had about a year of my own kind of private rumspriga. Did everything I had any inclination of doing that I shouldn't... Drugs being part of that equation. Useful in a number of ways, being stupid on purpose. Learned a lot of hard lessons, and found out exactly where a lot of my boundaries were.

Personally, I'm glad I did, because I've been around a lot of stupid in the following years, and had absolutely no desire to join in. As a youngish parent, and older college student, my lifestyle is a chosen one, and I've never felt I'm missing out by being a responsible grown up, but SUPER privileged to be able to do so. I've seen a lot of people in both categories go a little (or a lot) crazy, or feel burdened/cheated/blah blah blah. Which is exactly the opposite of how I've felt in the past 10 years of parenting. That there was a gap (rather substantial gap) between the two, I'm also glad of, although that's just luck or grace depending on your views. I got to be responsible again, purely for myself, for a time.

I dont see the huge deal with it except dont think people should drive right after a huge bong rip or anything. I still have friends who do it. I wont do it again just because i get all paranoid and stupid so id rather drink and get obnoxious and stupid.

i was the stupid sober kid going to the worst nieghborhoods to buy drugs but wouldn't use them...i think i was more idiotic than the kids doing them...i had no excuse to be a young teen in a horrible place in a drug dealers apartment

I did try it once a year ago while i was drinking at a camping party and it J. made M. feel drunk a little faster.

if my back keps hurting and my arthritis keeps up bad im not opposed to doing it instead of pain meds...

No, and I didn't drink either. But when I was in 8th grade (a LONG time ago...) the "bad kids" smoked cigarettes, cussed and ditched school. That's nothing now a days. =(

I still don't do any of that. Although I was raised with religious beliefs, I think several things factored into why I never did any of that. Seeing my friends be stupid and the cost was a major factor for one thing. Just not for me. My addiction is cheeseburgers, which is a whole different issue! LOL! =)

I tried it a few times. I don't quite remember if I liked it or not. After college graduation, the opportunity just never presented itself again and I never went looking for it. I don't remember it having much of an effect on me (although I DO recall eating an entire pizza once - GROSS!). I do think it should be legal, but I still don't think I'd partake. Too much hassle to get it, probably too expensive and I just didn't enjoy it enough.

So, yeah, didn't do anything for me either. And it was no "gateway" drug for me! XD

No, never. Total square growing up. Honestly, I just don't like anything that makes me feel out of control of my body. I've never even had too much to drink (mostly because I usually get a bad headache from most alcohol). I've always thought I'm in a very small minority by never having smoked pot. I'm interested to see your answers.

I never did... I got up my nerve and thought that I would but then my daughter was around some boys who were smoking it and she broke out in a terrible rash all over her body. I figured that I might have the same allergy if I tried it so I got chicken. I also have a little asthma and I was unsure how I would react.

I tried it once, did nothing for me, have no desire to try again or continue. I don't want it in my house, plus my DEA and controlled substance licenses could be in jeopardy (which then would mean I couldn't earn a living doing what I do).

Hubby was a regular pot user all through his teens and into his 20s and 30s. He said he enjoyed it and it helped him relax and it never stopped him from being a productive member of society. All the same though, I hated it. The day I told him I was pregnant, he never smoked again. It's been 5.5 years, and he's never touched it since and says he has no desire to either. Just like that. Now that he has a CDL and drives a truck for a living, with random drug testing involved, it's totally out of the question.

His ex-wife smoked it sometimes too, even while pregnant with their kids!

ETA: I admitted to my eight-year-old that I had tried 'smoking drugs' when she had asked me. She was SO appalled! haha!

I tried it twice. My older brother was a pot-head and he gave some to me one time. It just made me tired. The other time was with my cousin who had come to visit us from the army. Again, I just fell asleep. I've never felt the need to ever choose to do it by myself or again after that. Just not my thing.
