We have been in the Chandler area for 10 years and may be relocating in the next few months and are need of selling our home and we also have 1 dog and 2 cats that we are in need of finding good loving homes for. Does anyone have any advice as to how to go about this? I have never had to do this and finding the best homes possible is very important to us all.

Any suggestions?

If your dog is a full bred you can Google for a rescue group for that type of pet. Cats are harder.

L.,
They have good adoption agencies who will take your pets. I have 3 dogs and a cat myself and I don't know what I would do if I had to move and leave them. You can call the SPCA and they can help you. Or the humane sociaty. Not the dog pound. They will put them to sleep. I wish I could take them but I have some already. Good luck and God bless. Hope you have a safe and happy move.

Friends or family, spread the word around to see if someone can take them.

Good luck with your move.

Why can't you take them? After all, they are a part of your family. We have moved all over the U.S. and have always taken our 2 dogs and cat with us. Adopting a pet is a life time commitment. Giving up your pets because of moving is the No. 1 reason shelters and rescues are over crowded with unwanted pets. I hope you will reconsider your decision on giving them up.

I am an animal lover and would never get rid of my pet family. I have moved over 10 times in the past 15 years, and still have all my original pets and then some. We too are going to be renting soon after being homeowners for three years (lost it in foreclosure) and finding a rental that accepts pets is my highest priority. I would be homeless before I gave up my pets.

Hi L.,

What kind of dog do you have? Are you wanting all three pets to go to the same home? (that may be more difficult) As an animal lover, I know the importance of finding just the right home for your pets.

I know that Animal Welfare League SPCA at www.aawl.org has a program for surrendering your pets. Their number is ###-###-####. You can also go to their website and press the far right link "about us". Then go to "overview", then to intake at the end. They will KEEP your pet till they are adopted.

You can also contact:
Sun Valley Animal Shelter ###-###-####)
Rescue ###-###-####)
Paw Placement ###-###-####)
For the Love of Dogs ###-###-####)

I hope this may help and I wish you good luck.

If you would like to send me more information on your pets, I would be happy to fwd it to the agents in my office....there are over 100. I will also put the word out to all those I know that love animals.

If I can be of any help with the sale of your home also, please contact me ###-###-####.0427

Wishing you the best,
