My infant is on prophylactic antibiotics. We have on ongoing case of thrush. So far no luck with the two week nistatin or the three days of gentian violet. She's on a once a day pro biotic and I'm thinking of trying grapefruit extract next. I would love to know what worked for you guys.

What can I do next?

Look up Dr. Jack Newman's recommendations. Get a script for the all purpose nipple cream that he recommends. Keep doing gentian violet, you should take a pro biotic too. If you have a place in your house where you can expose your nipples to direct sunlight without flashing the neighbors, do it. cut back on sugar in your diet. Thrush sucks! Good luck!

no milk, no yogurt. This is what caused my daughters thrush. Odd but it worked. Is the kid bottle fed or breast?

IF you are breastfeeding... YOU ALSO have to be treated... at the same time.... as your baby. Otherwise, the Thrush, WILL continually, recur.

Your Pediatrician, should have told you this.

all the best,
Susan

I tried all the creams and prescriptions, but MotherLove Diaper Cream and Thrush worked for him. If he is breastfed, make sure that you get a second jar to use on your nipples too, otherwise, you are both just passing it back and forth. You should probably be on some antibiotics too for it.

And lots of naked time.
