I have a four year-old daughter who has a "froggy" voice. Her ENT, whom I really like, diagnosed her with acid reflux. He put her on ranitidine which really worked for awhile. I think becasue of allergies her voice is getting "froggy" again. We also eliminated cheese from her diet and keep her from eating any food two hours before bed. We haven't elevated her bed which we were told was also helpful because she moves all around in her bed and it's a full size bed. Perhaps we should do that, too. Anyway, I thought maybe some of you other mothers might have some homeopathic or other suggestions for acid reflux in an older child. Thank you!

What can I do next?

Good luck!! My son was diagnosed with reflux at 16 months after trying everything I could find such as herbs, elevating his bed, removing dairy, beans, brocolli, tomatoes and who knows what else from his diet he ended up on prilosec 4x a day. There is a DEFINATE connection between the reflux and sinus infections. The reflux is keeping the sinuses too moist causeing infections which also can cause the post nasal drip to cause a raspy voice. After 7 years of battling this we decided to have a surgery called a fundoplication. It was rough for about 4 weeks after the surgery but it was a gift to finally see my child be healthy. It has been 5 years and no problems. Have a CAT scan of her sinuses and scope her stomach to see how bad the acid is affecting her stomach. See a pediatric gastrointerologist and try to get the ENT to work together to clear up everything together (nose & stomach) Knowledge beyond what the Dr says is important. Good luck again.

I was just going to suggest www.abchomeopathy.com too. AT that site you can either make a post and some of the professionals there will assist you, or you can use the remedy finder and enter your daughter symptoms. Or, you can do both.

Good luck, I am a HUGE proponent for homeopathy. My daughter is almost exclusively treated with homeopathy.

yea its worked for my family....go to a health food store and pick up some BRAGG unfiltered raw apple cider vinnegar and use that the instructions come with it....you'd think adding accidic drink to your diet would make you have a flareup of acid reflux when actualy its putting the good acid back into your gut that isnt there thats causing all of your acid reflux problems
