Help DD Teething with Horrible Rash

My DD is almost 14 months old and is teething her molars (I think anyway). We have not changed her diet in anyway in the last few weeks and she has a horrible rash that hurts her everytime she pees, let alone poops. Her poop also seems to have changed and is much more liquidy (Sorry TMI). I give her tempra when she seems to be in unbearable pain and I try to offer her things to chew on but when she gets going I cant seem to do anything to help soothe her or help to take the pain away. It is breaking my heart that she gets so upset and is in pain that she cant tell me about. What do I do to help her? Any advice would help. Thank you in advance.

What can I do next?

I give my kids frozen peas to chew on when they are teething and they LOVE them. Now they even ask for them when they aren't teething! Kind of like a healthy ice cream treat I guess. :)Good luck and I hope it gets better soon!

I would get her checked out. It could be a yeast infection and not just simple diaper rash.

Diaper rash: I'm a big fan of Triple Paste. Also, baking soda baths (put in a lot - like a cup - you can buy big bags of it at Costco) help ease the discomfort. And diaper changes every hour until it clears. I'd get it checked out to make sure it isn't yeasty, if you can't get it to clear up in a couple of days.

Pain: Ibuprofen every 6 hours. Won't hurt her, and it will at least reduce the pain. Tylenol does nothing for the pain. My son also likes frozen wild blueberries - they stain, but they are delicious, full of antioxidants, and help ease the pain. I start every meal with them when he is hard core teething.

I have 2 girls that I used the following with.
For teething, use Hylands Teething tablets. Can use 1-3 tablets per dose. They can be chewed, but also melt in baby's mouth. Has very mild mint taste.
For pain, switch between baby Tylenol, & baby Motrin. By using different meds with each dose, baby's body can't get used to 1 med where it doesn't work well anymore.
For the rash, put some white baking flour in a dry pot, & cook on low heat until it turns a toasty brown. Put into a container & cool. When cooled, sprinkle it on like baby powder. can be stored with lid on to be used as needed.

It could be a yeast infection. Does she have spots that look raw? When my youngest was teething, she got a yeast infection. The doctor said to use Lotrimin AF (yes for athlete's foot) on her bottom.

LOTS of air...I would keep her in the kitchen gated off and let her run around without a diaper. Also when she does have a diaper one put a THICK heavy coat of the Desitin. We have had great luck with the pink cap up and up's brand for diaper rash cream...Butt Paste really hurt my babies bottom when we used it.

Probably a good idea to get her checked out, but I would also recommend Aveeno colloidal oatmeal. Put a packet in a warm bath with her; it works wonders.
I also find that lavender oil, about 10-20 drops in 2 oz of olive oil works even better than Desitin. But that may be more holistic than you'd like to go ;)
Good luck to you both. It's a horrible time!

I swear by pinx sav. You can only purchase it on-line (i think), but this did wonders for all of my kids when nothing else seemed to work.
