Has Anyone Seen a Chiropractor for Emotional Issues?

My baby is currently seeing a WONDERFUL chiropractor!

A few appointments ago he realized that I have a lot of emotional stress that I am trying to deal with - following the death of one of our other children - at that time he did some emotional work with me. The physical things he did helped me SO much for 3-4 days - which was wonderful.

I am planning on going back to him on a weekly basis now for this very thing...

I was wondering if you have had any GOOD experience with a chiropractor dealing with emotional issues?!?

Thanks

Terre's right. The body being in balance will help with emotional issues. The brain is a body part that needs adjusting just like a pancreas...

I never forgot the line that Reese Witherspoon said in Legally Blond...."Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands, they just don't." Your body chemistry, which can be controlled by exercise, adjustments and what you eat has a lot to do with your emotional state. When my kids were little I used to call their appointment with the chiropractor their "attitude adjustment."

I never thought about it before, but it makes sense if your body is in Balance, then so would be your emotions.

I've had some amazing emotional clearing happen as a result of acupuncture and homeopathy. I wouldn't be at all surprised if chiropractic helps, too. And you don't say, but many alternative docs are also trained in other techniques that could be helpful.

I'd say if it helps and you can afford it, do it!

In my experience, they can deal with emotional issues that you are currently struggling with. But, if you have things that are buried, if you will, I don't think they can deal with them so effectively and the cost is quite high IMHO. For example, I was worried about my brother one day when I had a regular appt schedule (for allergy treatments). She decided she needed to treat emotional issue first, but the issue really was not major - it was just a song on the radio reminded me of when my brother and I were in high school and I started worrying about him and his family because they had just moved into a new home in the woods in Maryland (and I was worried about Lyme disease). While I felt better after the treatment, this was really a superficial issue if you will.

I just had my first visit with a chiropractor today. For many years. I haven't been able to feel sadness. For example, I have a son with brain cancer, and I don't feel anything. When one of my sons went to Afghanistan, I felt nothing! I explained everything to my doctor, and he said he CAN help me. Not he thinks he can help me, but, he CAN help me! I will post after I see how things go. I have had so many disappointments, I'm almost afraid to believe him!

I totally believe in the mind, body, spirit connection and go to the chiropractor for everything. And a lot of times my chiropractor will notice things in my spine and say, “Are you having trouble sleeping? Are you crankier lately?” and he's right!! Chiropractic adjustments help, but won’t cure emotional issues. But a lot of times chiropractors also know of vitamins and supplements that may help some of your symptoms as well.

I have gone to a kinesiologist when I was tired all the time and he tested me for everything from food allergies to emotional work. He also does accupuncture and chiropractric work. It does make a difference!
