Has Anyone Else Had Experience with Chicken Pox Even After Having 2 Vaccines?

Yes, you can get the chicken pox after the shot, but having them three times really is not in the normal range. (Having the shot is like having a mild case.) So what to do?

Ask your pediatrician to draw a titre on your daughter to see her level of immunity.Her immune system may be weaker than most and she may need booster shots on things like mumps and measles also. You should realize that your ped. won't suggest this on his own you really need to ask for it. Also you might want to address why your daughters immune system isn't as strong as the adverage kid.

My 2 boys got chicken pox also even though they had all their shots from the pediatrition since day 1 of birth.They got them in 1st grade,the doctor says somtimes this does rarely happen,really couldn't explain enough for me to understand,but they had it on their scalp,inside the mouth's even on the tounge,they itched like crazy & the calomine lotion didn't help the itch to much(lol)we just had to let it run it's coarse and keep the boys as comfortable as possible.

Yes but I don't think that it is the chicken poxs. I am 28 and I just had a baby 3months ago 4 weeks ago I broke out in what everyone including the dermo dr. thought were chicken poxs but I had no other symptoms. We did a bi-opci on it and two of them came back as a virse but not the varicela virse what is beter known as chicken poxs my Dr. then sent it to another test and we now know it as one of two things both names I can not say or spell but nether one is contagious. I have a 8 year old that had the shot and my baby and two people that never had the chicken poxs around me and no one else got them. I broke out on saturday went to the dr's. on monday and was put on valtrx. by Wed. they started to go away and by friday they were going.
I had chicken pox when I was younger very badly at that.

My kids all had the shots and did not get them but my Doctor was telling me that the FDA are running some tests right now because they think that the chicken pox shot is not working with just one shot and he said before too long we will probably need series of the shots--just like with mmr's etc.

W., Yes both my children had the pox even with the shot. They were mild and no fever or iching either. My son got them in the summer and my daughter didnt get them . Then a year later she came down with a few. I still think the shot is a blessing cause it could have been so much worse.
