I apprecaite what he did but I'm not a fan. For some reason I've always found the stuff a little too trippy for me.

I will sit thru "The Lorax" next week with my son. As long as Jim Carrey isn't in it I should be okay.

What was I afraid of?
It's one of the stories found in the Sneetches book. About the pale green pants with nobody inside 'em. My son loves it too. I guess we like the dark stuff :)
My grandmother also had one called "You're Only Old Once" that is absolutely hilarious. One of the few written for the older set :)

I have two: Fox in Socks and The Lorax. FiS is just so fun to read. I like The Lorax not just for the story but because it was my dad's favorite book to read to me. I still have my childhood copy and read it to my kids.

I like them all, but The Sneetches is by far my favorite. I know it by heart because I have read it to my children so many times. :)

Green Eggs and Ham here, too, but we like Seuss overall. It's hard to pick. They all have charm.

I really like Green Eggs and Ham (I do, I like it, truly, ma'am) - but my *real* favorite is the first Dr. Seuss book I ever read. It's not as well known, because it isn't in rhyme (so some Seuss-lovers might be disappointed), but the plot line is just as silly.

It's titled THE 500 HATS OF BARTHOLEMEW CUBBINS, and it's about a boy who gets into big trouble because when he tries to take his hat off before the king, another hat immediately appears on his head - time after time.

If I can remember, after all these years, a book I read in first grade, I must like it a lot! (And I found a copy after years of searching. But it's back in print now.)
