Hey moms, I'm moving down in two weeks. We are renting a house in Farmers Branch and I need a pediatrician and a dr for my husband and me or a family dr that will do all of us. I need an ob/gyn too, and a chiropractor. I'd also like to know good/bad about the hospitals in the area, which ERs would you recommend, all that stuff. All recommendations are appreciated!!

What can I do next?

My hubby is a nurse...so at least on the ER front, if you are in farmer's branch, I'd go to Med City Dallas. Really depends on the type of emergency. If it is a major trauma, you are better off at Parkland or big Baylor. But for your little ones, Children's of Dallas is the best, then Med City Dallas 2nd. Don't trust anyone else.

I live in Farmers Branch, and we see Dr. Van Lam at Trinity Medical Center. He is a pediatrician, but can also see you and your husband. We were just there today for my son's 18 month appointment, and we were out within 30 mins. I honestly can't say enough good things about him.
As far as OB/GYN, I see Dr. Julie Thomas at Trinity also. She delivered my son. She is a great doctor too.
I also second the recommendation Acute Kids. It's a little bit of a drive for us to go, but it's great to go there instead of ERs. You can get in and out pretty quick.
I also have a 3 year old daughter, so maybe we can meet up when you get settled in. Just let me know!!

My husband and I go to Dr Joel Maust in Carrollton. His office is very close to Farmer's Branch. http://www.mcnt.com/bios/Dr._Joel_Maust.htm He does also take children, although we use a pediatrician in Plano. We also have a great dentist in his same building, Dr Jon Kolbensvik http://www.abeautifulsmile.biz/ As far as hospitals, you'd probably be best off with Trinity Medical Center in north Carrollton. I gave birth to my daughter there and was very impressed with them. I haven't had experience with any ERs here (Thank God), but have used the Plano Acute Kids Care. http://www.acutekidscare.com/ It isn't real close to you, but certainly good to know about for those late hour or weekend illnesses and injuries. Depending on where you are in FB, it is probably about 30 minutes away. I was just there this past Sunday and was in and out within 20 minutes. I love them! Good luck, and please message me if you have any other questions.

I recommend Dr Hector Hidalgo for your kids. He's an AWESOME Pedi. I have known him since I was 14 yrs old when i used to babysit his kids. He started seeing my older son when he was 3 months old(now 17 yrs) and my youngest at 2 wks (now 3 yrs) He is located at wincom off of Communications which is located off of Parker near Plano Presby. I will NOT go to Trinity Hospital me and my family has nothing but bad experiences there. If you want to know more about it pls PM me. My ob/gyn is in Medical City Dallas which has the best dr's in my opinion. Dr Marci Oliveria is AWESOME with the BEST bedside manners. I have seen her for the past 8 yrs. Dr Johnson is her oncall dr and he is WONDERFUL too, he delivered my son c-section due to emergency situtation. Plano Presby is the BEST ER that I have been to.
Good Luck and I hope this helps.
