Endometriosis - Goodyear,AZ

Hypnotherapy has been shown to work wonders with the pain of endometriosis. I know women that have largely reduced or eliminated the pain. It's not that weird--there are lots of documented cases of major surgeries being done with hypnosis as the only anesthetic (check on youtube--there are lots). Pain happens in the brain, not the place the signal is coming from. Phantom limb pain, where amputees still experience acute sensation in a missing limb, is a pretty good indicator of this. So pain can be controlled in the brain.

After clearing it with her doc, I would look for a clinical hypnotherapist trained at the Hypnotherapy Academy of America--there is a specific training at this school for this specific problem. You can google it.

I have a slight endometriosis. I am able to keep mine undercontroll because I found out by accident what was increasing the pain. I cannot drink any dark sodas, I am not sure it has anything to do with the caffine because some rootbeers dont have it. If she is a heavy soda drinker tell her she may want to try and quit for 2 weeks and see if that makes any improvement.

When she had her Hysterectomy...did she have her ovaries removed? Did they give her a synthetic estrogen? My BF has had (she has it very badly, too.) Had to have her ovaries removed and cannot take any estrogen replacement...she just has to deal with the hot flashes, which apparently, is way better than all the pain. I will tell you that she had surgery in Nov and is just now starting to feel normal. (She had it on her spine and bowels also)

I went through everything she has gone through. I just had my second child and am nursing, so am getting a break from pain right now.

I have already lined up an accupuncturist and chinese medicine practitioner for my next anticipated bout. I know a lot of people who swear by this and have had lots of relief from accupuncture and chinese medicine.

I definitely don't want to go the route of surgery or chemical menopause again, as they are so rough and the "menopause" symptoms were miserable!

I too, have had 3 lasproscopies/laser surgeries. Blessed to have one little
boy.
I would highly suggest your sister finding a natuopathic DR or NMD to guide
her and navigate the way with herbs, supplements, dietary changes etc....
Possible correlation with Candida yeast. (Get rid of sugar, white flour, etc...)
Many people have also had much success with accupuncture...
It is best to combine diff. treatments, such as accupuncture/Chiropractic yoga, etc...
There are a few good websites such as earthclinic and curezone
(they discuss what has worked and what hasn't)
Please check those out.

I think it is amazing that you are supporting her, and helping her find the information she needs. Most people do not understand the pain that is involved in some of these illnesses and it makes a world of difference to have love and support!!

As I said before, she needs to make strong dietary changes - partnering
with a natural Dr/practioner to help her navigate through the maze.

I simply googled endometriosis and herbal - start learning all you can, and see what she can try. Best of luck, I know detoxing can help a lot, and get rid of causes instead of just symptoms in many cases. My heart really goes out to her. Massage and acupuncture are two more things that may help. For acupuncture I would recommend finding someone who is very experienced. If the herbal stuff is correct, the pain meds are going to make it worse by making her liver more toxic. It definitely sounds like a tricky balance and a homeopathic doctor might be able to help more.

I, too,have endometriosis. The endometrium is formed within the uterus but in this case it escapes into the abdominal cavity. I've had a hysterectomy and gone thru menopause. When they did the hysterectomy they removed as much of the endometrium that they could. Some still adhered to organs but most of it was gone. Once the uterus is gone no more endometrium is made. The endometrium that is there will still bleed as long as the ovaries are making hormones but once menopause is complete there should be no more pain.

I did continue to have pain and an ultrasound showed that I either had a tumor or a cyst. During surgery they found that I had an inclusion cyst which was caused by scar tissue forming a pocket which filled with fluid. They removed that. I still have some pain when I jog or jump around because the scar tissue pulls on organs/nerves. I've eliminated that pain by finding what moves cause it. That means I no longer regularly jog or do jumping jacks.

I'm suggesting that since she's had a hysterectomy and induced menopause the pain is only indirectly related to the endometriosis. I would be sure to have the pain evaluated to be sure that something else, such as a tumor or cyst isn't causing the pain. If her ovaries are not producing hormones the endometrium itself should not be causing the pain.

I also had IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) which also causes pain. Have her doctors ruled out other possible cause for her pain?

If she has seen doctors about the pain, in addition to trying natural remedies I suggest she consult with a pain clinic. Biofeedback is one treatment that works for many people.

I sympathize with your sister. I had a whole lot of pain thruout the years too. I've been basically pain free for 15 years now and it is a relief.

They have a very detailed book (The Endometriosis Sourcebook), and sources online as well. The book has detailed sections on how to cope with pain.

Please read the online section "toxic link to endo". It talks about how dioxins, PCBs may be causing endo. They recommend minimizing exposure, including using unbleached, organic cotton sanitary pads and tampons (without plastic applicators).
