Educational Ipod-touch Apps?

We will be taking our annual trip to Europe pretty soon and it seems with every year my daughter gets older that flight gets longer.
I was thinking about getting her one of those Leapster things, but I am really not too excited about electronic toys and was wondering whether there are any apps for the I-pod with similar games.
She has been working on number and letter recognition in school, so I think she would enjoy games that ask you to point out a letter on the touch screen or something like that. Do you have any favorites?

I will also be taking my notebook (PC), if you have any suggestions for computer games for preschoolers that are not web based, please let me hear...
Thanks!

Download iBook; they have a lot of picture books for pre-schoolers that are free or cheap.

Search pre-school in iTunes and you'll find a lot; there's a ton of stuff out there. WeetWoo is another good one, it has youtube videos prescreened for different age groups - only way I'll let my kids on youtube is through WeetWoo.

Unless Leapster has headphones, I wouldn't recommend bringing that along - unless you don't care about annoying everyone around you to the point of them kicking the back of your seat on purpose.

Sounds like there are plenty more quiet learning type games for her to play that others of recommended.

Have fun!

My daughter really likes these:
Teach Me Kindergarten...First Grade...(it has a mouse in a purple dress on the icon)

Have a great trip.
