i get home from woek every night at 845pm; my husband works in the am and watches our 3 mo. old daughter during the day while im gone. i need some ideas on easy meals i can make before i leave in the moring. i usually have about 20 min in between getting myself ready and getting my daughter ready, so the time limit is very limited. he'll eat just about anything; from red meat, white meat, casseroles, stews, chili, etc. ANY advise, recipes, or tips would be very appreciated :)

What can I do next?

Hi K.,

You should try Super Suppers. It is a meal assembly place like the others mentioned here. The food is really good and simple to prepare. The meals feed six people but they will let you split them into half sizes for no extra charge. So you would have two meals that feed three people. The Super Suppers on Power/Brown is doing free assemble right now. They will put them together for you. All you have to do is pick them up. Hope this helps.

Hi K.! I found a trick to make my daughters meals to last months, but I'm sure it's going to work for your husband too. I make mac n cheese with peas in it, then freeze it in ice cube trays, each cube equalling about 1 ounce. Then, I microwave them for about a minute, and its done! Its pretty good too! If you put water in the top to make sure everything sticks together, it will come out moist too! You can do it with pretty much anything. For the husbands, just freeze it in bigger portions. You can keep these in the freezer for up to 6 months, so spend one day making a ton of food and you're set for a while! You can make fruit for your baby, cut up or pureed in a blender, depending on the age of the baby. But, give it a shot, it works wonders for me! Good luck!

Hi K.!

There is a place called my girlfriends pantry where you can go there and make meals that go from freezer to oven. And I think they have premade meals that you can just pick up.

Or if you would rather not have to go somewhere, if you go to Kraftfoods.com or campbellkitchen.com they have great ideas that are easy and fast. and Campbells also have a way where you say what you have and they give you ideas with that!

Good Luck!

Crockpot meals - there's a new magazine out by BH&G. You can get ziploc bags set up with the ingredients. Ask your husband to help you cook it or put it in overnight.

Try those supper places like Dream Dinners - there's an intro offer for 3 entrees @ $49.95 that you can make on a day off for an hour. We did that once and 3 entrees equals to 3 meals a piece for the two of us. Our son is 3 and he doesn't eat much. So, realistically comes out to 9 meals if my son doesn't eat it. And you don't have to eat it all in one week either. I've figured it out and sorted it into other ziploc bags before I stuck it in the freezer and then thaw before you cook it. It worked out great.

Hi, K.
I was having the same problem and I was getting meals from Entrees Made Easy and looked into several other dinner prep companies. Seems like they are popping up everywhere! Anyway, I got tired of their menus and my husband is strictly meat-and-potatoes, and comfort food. He's not into the gourmet. Then someone told me about Schwan's. I'm sure you've seen that big yellow truck with the ice cream. They also have so much comfort food and alot of it is very easy to prepare, most is even fully cooked. They even have 10-minute meals. I got my first order last week and I have been very impressed with the quality. The best part is you don't have to thaw the day before, you can prepare it from frozen. And they deliver it right to your door! Their prices are very reasonable. I just ordered for the next 2 weeks and got breakfast, lunch, and dinners for just over $200. They have a whole kid's section as well. Check them ____@____.com Luck!

I found these really good crock pot dinners by betty croker in the freezer section. You put them on in the morning and they are ready when you get home. I bought them for around 4.99 on sale last week and my family loves them.
