My husband is definitely a size large-tall for shirts. A large is just too short, and a XL is still too short and also too wide.
I've found only a couple places that sell this size. Where do you buy shirts this size? Either in store or on-line.

JCPenny but sometimes but I find they run more "big" and tall and my husband is slim and tall so he is a true LT. Nordstrom, Gap (but I buy XLT because they are usually a tighter fit and he doesn't like it too tight), Destination XL. I've also found small selections at Kohl's.

Dillard's & Men's Wearhouse.
My mom buys most of my dad's talls at JC Penny's. Sometimes Costco will also carry talls. LL Bean is another great place but a little more expensive.
JcPennys works for us. They have a Big & Tall section.
My husband has long legs & that is where I buy all his work clothes/slacks.
He only wears 501 Levi's & if I can't find his size in the store (36x36) I just buy them online, easy!
There is an actuall 'Big & Tall' store in my city...although I've never been it before...but I know they do exist..,I'd just Google or Bing it, if I were you'
Sears/Kmart have a nice selection. If the XL is too wide, you should try Large-Extra Tall (LXT).
JC Penney's also usually has a nice selection.
You might try searching the internet before you adventure out. I prefer to buy stuff in person but it's getting harder and harder to find my hubby's size - 2XLXT so I'll be searching the internet soon.

We always get clothes and shoes (size 15!) for my husband at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. The story is that the Nordstrom brothers were very tall. That's why you will always find plenty of clothing and shoes for tall people in the store. Good luck!
Eddie Bauer, JC Penny, Nordstrom, Sears (sometimes) many places actually do, but I just weigh the extra cost.
Casual Male Big and Tall, they can be a little pricy, but have sales often.
JC Penney, they used to have a nice selection (especially polos) in the store, but in recent years the stores in are area don't have a great selection. You can always order on-line.
