Disney Quick Service Dining Plan

Anyone have any experience with Disney's Quick Service Dining Plan? (this one includes two quick service meals a day and two snacks a day - non of the table service meals)

Did you get too tired of the quick meals by the end of the week? Did you feel it was worth the money? By quick service this means the restaurants you just pop in and have a burger and fries right?? Do you need to make reservations for places like this or not?

Thanks SO much.

My name is N. Cox and I am a Travel Agent and a Disney Specialist. Do you want to do any Character dining? If you do I would recommend the Dining Plan instead because you can trade table service meals for Character dining. This will save you money. I have clients that love Quick service however. They do have a wide variety of places. Disney is offering free dining at certain times of the year. Please feel free to call me ###-###-#### and I will be happy to help you.

I'm responding to you at the Orlando Airport. My family just finished up our vacation at Disney. We had the plan that included 1 table 1 quick service and 1 snack a day and it was soooo much food. I'm not complaining but I will be at the gym for the next month making up for it. There are so many choices at Disney you probably won't get tired of it. There are many, many more choices then just burger and fries. 1st check what resort you are staying at. We stayed at Coronado Springs. Our quick service restaurant was Pepper Grill and it was great. We had breakfast once, and dinner several times. There are lots of tricks that you can use with Quick Service also. We learned (at the end of the trip) that you can get the food togo and order 1 meal adult meal for kids to split. The quick service meals do not state adult or child. It says that you have to order a child where available but we had not problem. Also at Pepper Grill we could get a 14 inch pizza, drink, and 1 dessert. That would only count as 1 meal and 3 of us would eat it (and be full!!!) As far as snacks visit the candy shops. Cookies, Rolls (great breakfast ideas) and rice crispy treats are all snacks. Don't use your snacks for drinks if you can help it, its just not worth it. When you go to Magic Kingdom there is a QS in Tomorrow land and that you can get a 1/2 slab of ribs, 1/4 rotisserie, mashed potatoes, and green beans (plus drink and dessert) for 1 credit. My husband and I split it and still could not finish it!!!
If you are traveling with small children it would be nice to have the full service meals to go to character meals. These are nice because they come to you. The lines were really long to get autographs at the parks so if your little ones are into that it can be worth it!!!
Someone said that Wolfgang Puck express it a great use for your quick service and I would totally agree. I had a bacon wrapped meatloaf last night that I will be thinking about for a long time!!! Be careful though there are 2 Wolfgang puck expresses at Downtown Disney. One is attached to the Wolfgang restaurant and the other is on the Market end. The one on the Market end it much better!!!
To sum it up and end this long response I would say that the 2 quick service meal plan would be a great choice. Disney gives you lots of options to choose from so you should not get tired of the food.

ps Epcot's The land has a great Quick service option. My hubby had a tuna noodle salad that he would love to have again anytime!!!

I have never used any of Disney's Dining plans but have been to both Disneyland and DisneyWorld several times. Usually for their walk up restaurants, you don't make reservations.

I probably would not do it but we really like the sit down restaurants (where you do definitely need to make Priority Seating arrangements). We like the 'experience'that these restaurants provide and the knowledge that we will be able to sit down comfortably as a family of five.

But if you have no intention of going to a sit down experience, perhaps this is the plan for you. Each park has a different eating situation. Epcot has the best choices. I would talk to the Disney cast member when arranging this plan and get a list of where you can go for each park.

Good luck and have fun!

When we went to Disney World 3 yrs ago we had a dining plan that had a table meal a counter meal and a snack a day and we loved it. We used the counter meals all the time. Mostly at the cafe place in the Polynesian that we were staying. The counter meals are the places that don't have waiters and waitresses. We loved the food we got at the place. No reservations necessary, and it was burger and fries type places.

Yes, very tired. I don't mind paying a lot of money for good food. Disneyland is a lot of money for bad food. There are plenty of places to eat. Lots of the same thing. The reservations are even more money still not good food, just more selection of it. The Story Book Cafe in California Grand Hotel is one of the best places. This would be more for dinner or Breakfast. It isn't fast food or reservations, just go at off times and you can get in. I think it is Brea Cafe sandwiches and coffee is pretty good. It is out side in Disney town. Eat before breakfast before you go inside. Take a loaf of bread and peanut butter and jelly and snacks in your suit case. Rent a locker of the day. I would much prefer the kids to eat that than fries and burgers every day plus it saves. Then you can come out and eat dinner.

It's surprising, but it is definitely enough food and you can get very creative as people have mentioned. Ask the staff for help if you get confused. We got the mugs (I think it's $13 each but you can fill them up at your hotel for your entire trip) so when we had breakfast, we would get a bottled drink such as Fuse or a milk and leave it in the room for later. They charge a lot for those otherwise and it's nice to have something different. You can get creative with snacks as well - there is a sugar place on Main Street that you can get a huge rice krispy treat or other great things, you can get a small ice cream on Main Street and that's awesome - we love to get the cinnamon roasted almonds off Main Street or in Hollywood Studio (you might have to ask because they seem to move them). If you have leftover points, go to your gift shop and grab some snack items for the trip home. For some different quick service meals, try Flame Tree Barbeque in Animal Kingdom, Pepper Mill at Coronado Springs hotel (you can take a bus from any park to another hotel if you don't have a car - you just have to go back to a park to return back to your hotel), the Carribean Beach has a great food court and of course check out your own hotel. It's very easy to be creative and not get stuck eating only burgers and fries. The dining plan is well worth it because food is terribly expensive at Disney.

go to WDWinfo.com-they have every menu for every quick service. You can see what is there and decide if there is enough for you to eat.

You do not need ADRs to eat at QS.

The best QS IMO are the one at the Poly and Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD-actually this was the BEST meal I had the whole trip! IMO the food at WDW is not very good at all-even most of the highly rated table service places.

One thing I would suggest though is the character dinner at Ohana. Thought this was worth it-more so than the buffets that you can do.

No, no reservations needed for quick service. My family had no problem with all the quick-service eating. Yes, you stand in line and get your food, but you still get to sit for a while and take a load off in an air-conditioned atmosphere. A lot of the quick-service restaurants are also very nicely decorated and have lots for the kids to do (such as Pizza Planet in Hollywood Studios). We also love going to Flame Tree BBQ in Animal Kingdom. It's outdoor eating but if you follow the trails you get to eat with a wonderful view of Expedition: Everest.

We found it was well worth the money!
