Hang them out in the sun to dry. Works for me every time. The sun has natural bleaching properties and it's a much better way to sanitize your diapers too. Something about the UV rays kills bacteria. A little extra work, but it's cheap and you'll get more life out of your diapers. They are a little scratchy off the line, but you can throw them in the dryer afterwards to fluff.

I was told to use Bac-Out by BioKleen but I didn't have much luck with it. I don't think I was using it right though so it could work. I ended up using baby oxy clean with good results.

I would use some Zout and let it sit on stain for awhile. It takes out everything in the world. Then I would wash in hot water. You can also soak in hot water with Oxyclean. The best thing to do is spray or soak as soon as possible. I always carry a bottle of zout with me and some large plastic bags so I can spray and put inside the bag.
Good luck,

Hi A.,
The thing I really like about my pocket diapers is that unlike my other diapers they rarely get poop stains that don't come out in the wash. For the stains that don't come out in the wash putting the diaper in the sun to dry works amazingly well. If you're having frequent problems with stains you may want to try another detergent. Check out these websites for charts that compare detergents: Pinstripes and Polkadots and The Diaper Jungle. Hope this helps. Happy Cloth Diapering, K.

Did they say no bleach or no chlorine bleach? Oxy Clean and Borax are good alternatives. Another good idea is lemon juice & salt rubbed in, then set the diaper out in the sun.
