Does anyone have a good dermatologist recommendation for my 6 month old? He has excema and I am fed up with all of the lotions and calming creams and would like to see someone even if they tell me to use the lotions and calming creams :)

What can I do next?

This is really just some encouragement for you.... My son had extreme (oozing) eczema for the first 7 months. He did outgrow it, little by little, and now, at age 2, only has the tiniest little rough patch on his leg. I know it's very disheartening to see your little guy looking like he does, but hang in there. For my son's face, we used 1/2% or 1% hydrocortison cream and it worked great. For his body, we used a prescription lotion that was great, but really strong. With any steroid cream (even hydrocortisone), I was told to only use it for 10 day stretches, and then 10 days off. Constant use can actually thin the skin and cause a type of scarring if you're not careful. More than anything, just moisturize the heck out of him. Aquaphor is great, if you're not already using it. (You've probably tried it all.) And good luck with the dermatologist!

Sorry I can't help you but wanted to say that I'm considering the same thing. I'm using almost every product for that exzema (I can't spell it) and it helped for a few weeks then it got cold outside and she's broken out again. Her skin is rough and seems very think and has bumpies all over. Our poor kids.

We are going hrough the same thing with our 9 month old. Our pediatrician just reccommended using OTC hydocortisone 1% cream twice a day. His skin responded amazingly to this cream. I just wanted to throw another idea at you. I hope whatever you choose to do works for your baby. I know how frustrating it is. Good Luck.

I highly recommend Dr. Mitchell Bender. He is a good doctor and very kind to my son. He sees people in Edina and Eden Prairie locations. The website of the office is www.dermspecpa.com

My son had the same problem from birth - 9 months. I took him to our main doctor (since most insurance need a referral for dermatologists) he suggested oatmeal bath and Aquaphor (especially in the winter since it protects). It went away right before his first birthday. The doctor thought it was just his “new” skin adjusting to the world.
I would suggest going to your main doctor first and they will maybe prescribe something or give you some idea like mine did. Good Luck

What are you using for lotions and baby wash? I use Arbonne products and they are great for excema and childrens delicate skin.
If you would like more info on Arbonne, send me an email and I would gladly help you. I use all of their products and highly recom. them.
