You may wish to talk to a dietary person as well. My daughter is vegetarian and we did this and it did really help us; Soy Milk may be an option and avoiding processed foods (certainly with nuts, milk, eggs). I would check organic things out (go to Trader Joes or Woodmans or Dominicks has somethings as well), like the cheeses or other things to see how they process if you want your son to eat it. Good luck!

Hi. We found out our son was allergic to eggs, milk, soy, nuts... at around 6 months. Basically the best thing and easiest thing to do is avoid processed food. If you make it you know what's in it. Baking, just use rice milk and you can sub apple sauce or bannana or oil... Avoid restaurant fried foods, any bread that is shiney or yellow. Good old meat/noodles (not egg ones of course) and fruits and veggies. Our son is almost 3 now and appears to be growing out of all but egg. any other questions send private email. : )

The good news is that your 9-month old shouldn't have eggs or milk until they are one year anyway. You can start with the normal baby foods and just check labels or make your own that is purely just fruits and vegetables.

Good luck and have fun!

My son is also allergic to milk and dairy products. We eat a lot of soy yogurt and cheeses and when I cook I substitute milk with soy milk

Good Luck

I have a son with peanut allergies. I have found a lot of information online. Below are a couple of sites to get you started. In the Chicago area there are several supports groups for families dealing with food allergies and they are very helpful. Check out the resources section of the illinoisfaea site below for connections to these groups. Email me if you would like more information.

HI M. -
I don't have much time to respond but, my kids are anaphylactic to dairy, eggs and peanuts and allergic to peas, tomato, corn, wheat, sugar, soy, cats, dogs, mold, dust and other environmental allergies. My best advice is to join the Yahoo Group Terrifickidswfa ! There are hundreds of members in the same boat and we chat NON-stop! I replace eggs though with Ener-G (which can now be found at Wal-Mart in the baking isle near the Gluten Free stuff - yellow and brown box on top shelf).. and Milk we replaced with rice milk. HTH!
