Convertible Car Seats - Brentwood,TN

I just got the Safety Alpha Omega Elite from Buy Buy Baby for $80 after using my 20% off coupon. Everywhere else it retails for $150 or more. The downside is that you have to get the black one that they offer. It goes up to 100 lbs as a high back booster and 40lbs with the 5 point harness. The reviews for forward facing were great, but the reviews for rear facing were horrible as most people didn't feel that it was secure. We have no plans to use it for rear facing so I didn't pay attention to those reviews. For full disclosure we haven't used it yet. It is a second seat for my husband's car and for when we travel.

The Graco MyRide 65 is a wonderful deal for a really good carseat, at just over $100, and you can buy them at Walmart, Target, Babies R Us, and Bed Bath & Beyond (if yours has a Baby section). I wouldn't buy a used car seat, as there are safety risks involved. I don't know if I posted on your other posting, but if I didn't, two great websites about convertible carseats are:

If you want a truly on a budget seat, the Cosco Scenera is $50 at Wal Mart. It will rear face to 35lbs, forward face to 40lbs. Fits most kids to age 3/4, and its a great easy to use seat that is safe and a good price.

Otherwise the Graco MyRide65 ($120), First years TrueFit ($150+), Britax Roundabout50 ($150), Evenflo Triumph ADVANCE ($120) are all great seats on a budget. Safe and can extended rear face and harness to an appropriate weight.

I don't blame you for not wanting a used seat. You cannot trust a used seat unless you trust the previous owner with your childs life.

I'm not sure how much you have to spend, but I bought my youngest son The Learning Curve First Years True Fit from Wal-Mart.com and got it shipped site to store for free.

If you decide to go used only buy from someone you know, and make sure you look at the Mfr date. Never use a car seat that is older than 6 years from the Mfr date, car seats do expire.

How heavy is she?
Some carseats can accomodate smaller kids in bigger weight ranges, so you might not need the convertible.

And why not look at used? Especially since you only need it for a short time. We borrowed an Alpha Omega for DS, and were happy to give it back after 3 months!

Sometimes babies r us has some on clearance, last years models or the displays. Also look at albeebaby.com and look for new in box on eBay. We got a britax marathon (one of only three convertibles I'd ever consider after a fatality accident and much research!) for only $119, huge savings and our big six year old still fits in it years later so worth every penny! Be sure to get one that goes to 65 lbs not 40 otherwise you'll be buying another seat before you know it!

I bought mine at Target for around $40. It is a Graco, starts as a rear facing, then a forward facing, and finally converts to a booster. We ended up buying four of them, one for my car, one for my husband's suv, one for her aunt's car, and one for her grandparents. We gave away three of them, but I still have one left if you want it. Sometimes Toys R Us does trade ins and you could use it for that.
