Hi ladies. I'm looking for some recommendations on activities for a 3 year old in the area of music lessons, dance, gymnastics, and the like. What activities do you all have your little ones in, and are you pleased with what they are gaining from the program?

We're open to both Hillsborough, and Pasco counties.

Thanks!

Every child has their own interests and mom always knows best when it comes to their child. You can always do a few trial lessons in different areas and see where she sparks the most. As an instructor I've noticed that 3yo tend to be very active and responsive to music. I have been teaching music, dance and yoga for little ones for years. There is a music program going on in Land O Lakes and you can get a free month trial if you sign up before the month is over. It is not like other music entertainment programs like Gymboree or Music with Mar, it's and actual music class where they learn songs, dance, listen to poetry and rhymes and different types of music. It is also a good intro to dance since children learn to follow beats, count and more. I can send you more info if you like.

Have fun!

Mine were never in anything like that but I know lots of kids that have went to Jackie's Dance School that is located by the Library in Plant City. My neighbors neice went there and loved it.

I just recently started a music class for my 3 year old and found her through mamasource. Her name is Katherine Hintz and her bio is amazing!! She teaches in her home and she is very good. Her email address is ____@____.com and her telephone number is ###-###-####. She lives in Stonegate off of 54 (not far from Dale Mabry on 54).

If you are looking for a real music class - one that teaches rhythm and sounds, etc. and not just fun and games, then this is the class for you. Not that they don't have a blast, because they do, but it is centered around learning and not just bouncing off the walls if you know what I mean. This was very important to me when I chose her.

Anyway - she just started a 9 week session and I am sure she would take you.

Good luck!
Sam

Hi M.,
I am a certified instructor with Music with Mar. and we have fun, interactive music and movement classes throughout the community for ages 0-6. Classes do not teach music, but use music to teach basic developmental skills (social, motor, language). Prices are per family, not per child! For a schedule and for more info, check out www.musicwithmar.com. I teach in Tampa & Oldsmar.
