Does anyone know of ways to Cleaning grout of ceramic tile floor?
I have never done this before and our floors are looking pretty gross in our rental home.

Do I need to get on my hands and knees and just scrub away? Or is there a better way to go about this?
What is the best products to use? Is hiring a professional to clean it a pricy thing to do?

I had to clean the grout in a house we moved into. The grout was originally white, but it was actually black, yuck! I rented a grout cleaner (steamer) from Home Depot for 24 hours and went to town. You can buy grout cleaner and put it down first, and then follow up with the grout steamer. It had amazing results! I followed up with a grout sealant after it was all finished. It took me 16 hours to do the whole house but it looked amazing. It was very affordable. Good luck!

The steamer is basically like a pressure washer and it blasts that dirt out of there, it's awesome!

I used the magic eraser from Mr. Clean. It worked great but you have to go on your knees for that one too. ;)

If you don't want to pay for service (which I might try one day when I can afford it) then get on your hands and knees. Vinegar works great! I've done it with a toothbrush and I did the kitchen, laundry room. bathrooms and entry way. It took a lot of work but it works. However, I forgot to seal it, so I get to do it over again. LOL. If you have time let the vinegar do the job. If you have the money have Stanley Steamer or some other local company clean it and make sure they seal the grout.

Use toilet bowl cleaner. I use the Lysol power bowl cleaner with bleach in it. Just pour the gel on the grout, let sit for 15 mins or so and wipe off. No need to scrub.

Our prof tiler told us to go to home dept and buy a cleaner there that has acid in it. He said it is nice to seal it too when finished to prevent future issues
