Good morning. Can anyone suggest some Christmas gift ideas for a twelve-year old boy? He loves video games, but I would like to get him something other than that, since he has plenty of video games. Thank you.

What can I do next?

My 11 yr old loves "Imgine X" he has 2 tubs full of these charters, and you can builld castles, boats, fire stations, you name it. It really helps him get away from the TV and use his imgination and creativity!
He also play this with his 6 yr old sister, which is amazing!

At walmart they have these boxes woth a microscope and things to do with Science, (I dont know the names of them) but there are also one that is a bug magnifier a fossil kit and a rock cleaning kit. My nephew is 11 and loves these things and however has alot of video games also. And they are only like $15- $20 dollars. They also have new little digital cameras if your looking for something a little more expensive. $54 maybe. Amyway good luck

What about a gift card to that Silicon Speedway (Race simulation game) at the MOA? Not sure of the age requirement, but as a video game fan he might like that if he's old enough to do it. Or, a gift certificate to Shinders (hobby and collectible store)...that's what I'm getting my 10-yr old nephew. There's a skate park called 3rd Lair that you could get him a GC for too...they have lessons, open skates etc. (not probably on your list of safe activities, but at least it's supervised and would be something fun for him).

Something that went over well for my son's bestfriend's birthday gift was I gave him a gift bag with a Blockbuster rental card ($10), microwave popcorn, a box of candy, a McDonald's giftcard ($5), and a family card game. His mom said he LOVED it.

I'm getting my 11 year old son tickets for him and his best friend to go see Eragon during Christmas break and I will include handmade certificates for a little spending cash that day, too.

Best of luck!!

I purchased a mini digital camera last year for my then 9 yr old son and the 10 and 12 year old cousins. They loved it.

Overstock.com has a lot of cheaper electronical goods. One year I also got the boys a voice recorder in a pen. Kinda cheesy but they got a kick out of playing super-secret spy with it.
