Chlorinated Tap Water

Does anyone know how to get the "chlorinated" taste from the tap-water? I have boiled the water and the taste still doesn't go away. I am from a small town in Northern California,(about 2 hrs. north on I5) and the tap water tasted wonderful and I never had to buy water, so it REALLY bothers me to buy water from the store. Thank you for your ideas.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all so much for your great advice. I am going to try all the home remedies and also check into how much it would cost for a faucet purifier. I'm going to price them the next time I go to Wal-Mart. Thank you all again and God Bless You. :)

Hi C.,
All you have to do is fill a container with water and let it sit for a while. The chlorine dissipates when exposed to air. After a time, put water in the fridge and use within 24 hours. You can buy carbon filters which will filter it out but just exposing it to air will do wonders.
Sincerely,
L.

I had the same problem until I went to the health food store and they told me to put a pitch of Vitamin C (finely ground) in a pitcher. Start by adding very little and add a bit at a time until the chlorine taste is gone. It also adds more vitamin c to your diet.

I recommend the faucet-mounted Pur water filter. The water tastes great from it and even though its faucet-mounted, you still have the ability to choose filtered or regular tap water. They are a bit pricey, but end up paying for themselves in the long run.

I have used the Brita pitcher with a filter and it works really well. Now we have an under-sink filter and I love it, but they aren't cheap.
