Hello,

I was wondering if any of you have the recaro toddler race car seat. If you have can you please tell me if you like it and any other information that you can provide would be great. I currently have the Britax Marathon and I love it but the buckle part does not adjust and it is getting harder to put her in the car seat because she is so long. I have not heard of a lot of people who have this particular car seat but I hear it is suppose to be very safe and is made out of the same material as race car driver seats. Just doing a little research before I go and purchase a new car seat.

Thank you,

R. J.

We have the Recaro seat. It's a forward facing one that converts to a booster and both me and my son love it. We were using a convertible one beforehand that was hard to adjust, he always seemed uncomfortable in and when I realized what I had to go through to get the covers off to wash it, I started looking for something different and decided on the Recaro. It's machine washable material is easy to remove and the straps and seat are easy to adjust. It's also very comfy soft material that my son has no problem snoozing in. the other thing I like about it is that the base isn't huge like many of the others so it fits nicely in the back seat while still leaving room for two other (smaller)passengers.
I actually have nothing bad to say about it--except the price, hehe. But after a year, I consider it well worth the money we spent on it.

I have a Britax Boulevard now that I have passed on to my son (7 months) and purchased a Britax Regent for my daughter (3 years). I personally love Britax and have been completely satisfied with both of them (even though I have only had the Regent for a month). The regent keeps them in a five point harness up to 80 pounds or so. It is wider and has more slots to adjust straps for larger children. It is bulky to fit in your car, but my daughter thinks its very comfortable. I did see the Recaro's in my research, but decided to stick with the brand I was familiar with in Britax. All the Britax seats get 5 star safety ratings and that was very important to me. Hope this helps.

R., The Recaro is a Fabulous car seat. I have 2. It adjusts well, supports their heads if they fall asleep, and is very soft. My only problem with them is the lack of cup holders. We travel all the time and the car seats are in captains chairs in the back of my SUV, so there is no place for a water bottle. If the seat was to go into a bench seat with a pull down center console that would work great! Other than that I love these seats, we came out of the Britax Decathlon about 1 year ago. Good luck, K. I have no experience with the recaro car seat but I have heard the same thing about it being the same as a race car seat. I did research too when it came time to change my son. This is what I found. A video showing the dangers of booster seats. I also learned more about what I need to be shopping for. I had kind of wondered about booster seats as children tend to move the seat belt in to an unsafe position. After watching the video I was sold on NOT buying a booster seat. Anyway, when researching a car seat look for not only the weight it can hold but if it holds them with a 5 point harness or a lap belt. You will see in the UTube video that they suggest the Britax Regent which holds them in a 5 point harness up to 80lbs. Most other seats only go up to 40lbs. There is also a car seat that is solid and slimmer called the Sunshine Radian. It is FAA approved and folds up the Britax is bulky, not FAA approved, and does not fold up. We purchased both and sent the Sunshine Radian back because the Regent looks much more comfortable and seemed to have more room to grow in. You can take your son to Babies R Us and set him in the Regent and I can just about bet you will want it. That is what happened with us. Its a great seat!! I believe TinyRide.com has a few available for $235.00 which is a great price. Free shipping too. Take a look at the UTube video. Good luck on your search.
