Has anyone used the Pac Back which allows you to carry your car seat on your back? I was interested in purchasing it for a trip next month with my son.

What can I do next?

I waited patiently for almost 6 weeks for the Pac Bac to come in....but I ran out of time.,....in desperation I bought the enclosed, zipper around style (sorry, I can't remember the name of it but it is always listed next to Pac bac in the catalogs), I would not dream of traveling without this...I prefer the enclosed style because it allows for extra storage space (ie toys, blankies, etc)..we traveled quite a bit last year and twice I was over the weight limit by a few pounds...so I just put the non-essentials in the carseat carrier and all was fine..much more comfy too!!!!
Good luck!!

I bought it - but since I was carrying the car seat, carry on luggage, and my daughter, I put a backpack/diaper bag in the car seat and strapped them both into the Pac Back. One of the straps of the Pac Back ripped and I was left really struggling to handle all the stuff. I'd highly recommend the GoGoKidz Car Seat Trolley that I bought before our next trip. It's very easy to use and it turns your carseat into a stroller. Then you don't have to carry your child and the car seat, you can wheel them both safely, plus have another hand free for a carry on, a bottle of water, another child's hand or whatever you need it for!

I'm flying internationally with my 3 and 1 year old daughters this summer - one will ride in the car seat on the trolley and the other will either walk and hold my hand or ride in a Ride On Carry On seat - another genius invention! :)

Best of luck,
M.

I don't think you could spend your money any wiser!!!! Everyone I know uses this, we all have Britax seats, which are HUGE and heavy, so if you have a lighter seat, perhaps it doesn't matter to you. This thing not only saves you from carrying the carseat, but also the child. You wheel the child in the seat. We even carry it plane side for check in at the gate just to get through the airport without having to carry her. If I do take the seat on the plane I just leave the wheels on and plop it right down in the seat.
The first time I used it the security made me take the wheels off, which made me crazy and I was hating it! It was my first time traveling alone, and here I had to do that. When I got to the other side, the woman said..."you didn't have to take them off, we could have hand walked it through". I was livid. Each time now, when they try to fit it through the x-ray machine, I tell them they need to hand walk it through and it has never been a problem.

Hi Depending on your carseat it can be heavy. we have the pac back and the one one wheels, you put the car seat in a bag and wheel it around. The wheel around worked better for us cause we could put other items in w/ the carseat, blankets toys ect and then loop the diaper bag on to the handle. i got the wheel bag at Target.com

Hello C.,

No I have not hear of the pac back but it sounds heavy. I just came back from my vacation and I saw the most wonderful new toy. A lady had two car seats wich seemed to be on the floor but they were not they were on something like wheels and a long stick for her to pull them or stand them up. I thought, what a wonderful invention, you can take your car seat and not carry it. (which by the way are sooo heavy)
I am sorry that I do not have a name of it, but so you know that you have more choices out there.

I borrowed one from a friend for our trip and it was wonderful to have the car seat on my back (super light weight!) while trudging through the airport. Not sure what brand it was but I loved it!

I used something similar. It worked well, but you have to be aware of the seat whenever you turn around. I came close to hitting people with it.
