Does anyone know the rules on when you can put a kid in the front seat? We have a truck and sometimes my son has to ride in the front seat. He is still in his car seat and the airbag is shut off. Anyone know the rules on this?

What can I do next?

Hi E.
Well my husband drives a truck and we wonder that very same thing. We went to our local police station and talked with them. They said as long you can turn off the air bags then it is fine. With newer trucks there is a place to turn off the air bags with the truck key. But if you can't turn off the air bags then your child can not sit up there. Hope I was some help to you..

Hi E.,
I think the law in CO is the child has to be 13 years old before they can be in the front seat. It is for their safety that they sit in the back as long as they can. Beleive me Ican't wait till I can put one in the frontseat also.

I would say contact the DMV, state patrol, or local police and ask them to get the most accurate info.
