ever since we had several inspections on our other property (because we want to sell it) they found termites plumbling AND foundation issues. This is going to be very h*** o* our one income. But ever since then I have Shortness of breath, sleeplessness, acidic throat and stomach, constipation, nausea, muscle pain, no energy........and frankly slight panic attacks.

should i assume this is all stress related?

What can I do next?

It's PROBABLY all stress related, but it's ALWAYS worth a trip to the doctor, because those are also symptoms of far more serious things (heart attacks, hormonal imbalances, etc.).

Stress can cause those symptoms, but to be on the safe side - because they can also be symptoms of a larger, more dangerous health issue - you should probably seek the advice of your primary care physician.

You betcha stress 'can' cause those symptoms. But never mess around with chest pain and/or shortness of breath!

SOUNDS stress related, but I'd go get checked out just in case. Breathing (normally) is kind of one of those things you HAVE to do, you know? ;)

You should talk to your doctor. Lots of stress can cause dehydration.

It probably is, but don't assume to the point of not getting it looked at. My stress level a few years ago made my GI issues become more pronounced and forced me to get treatment, instead of shrugging off my feelings of uneasiness with "probably just something I ate".

Stress can cause these symptoms, at least I've gotten them when severely stressed. Selling a home is a huge undertaking!

That said, it might help you to de-stress by sitting down with your realator and husband/SO to prioritize the repair work. Not all of it has to be done prior to selling, particularly if you're willing to give a "credit" (read: price reduction) on the selling price. Instead of stressing, make an action plan! I find this does A LOT to help me combat stress. If I have a plan, I can execute the plan and then there's no need for major stress (just little stress <wink>).

I think the sleeplessness amplifies all the bad feelings. You may consider an over the counter or herbal sleep aid to get you back on your normal sleep schedule. Personally, I've used melatonin (found in the pharmacy section of my grocery store) and I've used the herbal supplement, passion flower (most health food stores carry this). I like the passion flower much better!

Exercise is also a good stress reducer. A simple walk around the block can work wonders.

Good luck.

Panic attacks cause those symptoms, and they all are stress related. I wouldn't assume it, as it could be indicating something else. With stress, and these types of symptoms, it also can lead to stomach ulcers, esophageal upset/erosion, and other conditions. You need to speak with your doctor about this, as he could probably put you on something that will help curb these specific symptoms.

Absolutely yes stress causes illness! Aloe vera juice will help with the acidic stomach & constipation. Exercise will help with anxiety & I also recommend acupunture for the stress & they should also help you with other supplements for the no energy (which is probably your adrenals). Some bloodwork may be in order for the acupunturist to read what other supplements you may need. Throw in some prayer, let go & let God & trust & things should be better in no time. I have been doing acupunture since January & it has helped me tremendously. If you are worried about more serious issues definitely see your primary care Dr. for a scan.

Stress probably could cause those issues, however I also wonder if you have recently had your thyroid levels checked? I ask because I had that same laundry list of symptoms (and had been chalking it up to stress for a long time), but when my annual physical happened this year and my doctor had a blood workup done, we discovered that I had an underactive thyroid. She put me on medication and the symptoms are improving. Also - your ability to manage stress decreases when you have an underactive thyroid, so any stress you're under seems a lot worse. Anyhow, just a thought since I had those exact issues myself!

One last thing - my husband is a real estate broker, and there is no house out there that is perfect. Not even brand-new homes are perfect! Please consult with your realtor before embarking on any pricey repairs. It may be completely unnecessary, as depending upon what's going on with the rest of the house, how much you're planning to sell it for, whether it will be a short sale, traditional sale, etc - all of these issues can factor in to just how "ready" your home needs to be in order to sell for the desired price. Before you worry about this, please check with your realtor! S/he can put your mind at ease and help you come up with a strategy to deal with these issues.

If you have a local Church you attend or know... possibly, you can ask them for help?
Maybe the members are people who do this kind of work, and can offer you a discount or even do it for charity?
Who knows.
Its worth a shot in asking.

Or any other type of maybe bartering type services or what not.

It's a nightmare going thru this, isn't it! We are going thru a short sale & not only are we losing a ton of money on the house, they want us to just keep forking money over that we don't have to improve it. Stress, we are finding out does a whole lot to you physically, but I would still get it checked out because there may be something else going on. Best of luck to you with the sale of your home. I know that if our's doesn't close the end of the month we're just going to run screaming!

Yes. Stress has very powerful physiological effects on the body. Once the problems are fixed, and you get caught up a little, you should be feeling better. Of course, you can see your Dr. for anti-anxiety meds, if you are willing to go that route, but they can have their own issues.

Good Luck and try to relax. Deep breath, and know that it will all be okay!
