I am looking for a place to have my son's first birthday party. My husband and I have a lot of friends and family that are coming to town to attend, however we live in a 3 bedroom townhouse and don't have room for 40+ people (adults and kids) to be running around. We would like to have hus party outside October 21... Does anyone have any suggestions? I have called Desert Breeze park and Kiwanis Park but their covered areas are already booked. Please I NEED help and don't really know the area. Any suggestions are completly appreciated!!!!! Thanks MOMS!!!

What can I do next?

I would suggest getting online and checking out the city parks...if you go to www.ci.gilbert.az.us or www.ci.mesa.az.us you can check out the parks online to see where they are located and what amenities they have. You can then contact them to see availability. Hope that helps!

Hi K.,

I have had 2 b-day parties at Desert Breeze park and honestly, the covered areas are far from the action. As another mom suggested, they have plenty of tables that are first come first serve so get out there early with your table covers, decorations, etc. and have someone maybe trade off with you on watch so you won't get too tired or bored. My suggestion would be to get there around 8:30 or 9:00am. The best location for the party would be just under the bridge which is shaded and is right in the middle of the water feature and the playground. Of course, Chuckee Cheese is nice but it gets pricey. Perhaps a friend would lend their backyard for your fiesta? At any rate, good luck and an early Happy Birthday to the little guy!

Take care,
D.

Gilbert and scottsdale both have a railroad park. both have large covered areas with BBQ's and a cool train both kids and adults can ride. I have had parties at both.

Another altenative is to go to the parks because they always have tons of tables but they are not all covered but its 1st come 1st serve. I understand not liking this option because it can be confusing for the guest to not know where the exact table for the party is. Honestly most parks are booked this time of year. My daughter will be 2 in Nov so I am stuck going to Chucke Cheese this year because again I did reserve in enough time!!! I forget!!! Her 1st little party was very small and we went to desert Breeze without reservastions and there were tons of tables available but not covered.

Try Islands Park in Gilbert. It is located at McQueen and Warner. Very nice park, it is on the water and has a great shaded playground with a big green ramada covering. There is lots of grass to play and run. My daughter has her soccer practices at that park and my three kids absolutely love it!
