How much do you pay a babysitter for 2 kids (age 4 & 2) an hour? Was meaning just for a night out.

So What Happened?

I usually pay between $7-$8 an hour depending on age of child and then will tend to round up to make paying it easier.

my daughter charges 5.00/hour for the first child, 8.00/hr for 2 kids, 12/hr for 3..and sometimes people pay her more like 20.00 per hour for 3-4 kids. People should pay at least 5.00 per hour for 1 kid because it is taking up their time and my daughter has a busy life so she usually has to sacrifice something else to babysit.

Hi,

I base it on how much experience the person has with babysitting. If they only have a few months to 5 years I would pay $5.00 an hour, but if they have 5+ years of experience I would pay $10.00 an hour. I have also based it on how old the person is. For instance, I have had a 14yr. old girl watch my girls and only paid her $20 for the night. She was very happy with that, but when my older friend watched them I paid her $40 for the night.

I hope this helps:-)

it depends on if you are talking about a date night, or all day everyday.

unfortunately, i think the going rate for a date night is $10 an hour. which i think is a little ridiculous. Back in my high school days i charged $5, and i thought that was just fine.

generally if it is an all day everyday thing they charge by the week or by the day. Generally it amounts to about $2.50 an hour.

I pay a doller equivalent to their grade in school. So for example, a 6th grader I would pay $6 per hour, an eighth grader $8, a 10th grader $10, etc. That way, if you are using the same babysitter, he/she gets a raise every year too!

I pay $10/hr for one, so I would guess at least $15/hr.
