If she doesn't want it, don't make her eat it. She will eat when she's hungry. Start with bland stuff: Applesause and Pears. If she doesn't want it, put it away for about a week and try again.

(I'm sure alot of poeple are not ganna be happy with this advice but here goes...)
I know everyone will tell you not to do this but if I were you i'd try sweet stuff(fruits) at first until she just gets used to the texture and actual eating then slowly add in others my boy was born Sep.18 and eats 3 4oz jars a day(fruit, vegs&meats)...my doc said to start him on table foods, maybe you should try those if all else fails.

Also I just wanted to let you know that my heart aches for the loss of your son. I also lost a baby(not a twin) @ 3 months, though your situation i'm sure was alot harder, your not alone in your greif. I live in east Tn,not that far from Erwin.and I too am a stay at home mommy so if you ever want to talk, about kids or anything you can msg me or e-mail me @ ____@____.com,

And don't worry to much! When babies are hungry they will eat!!
Advice comming from the heart~N. J.

As a mother of 3 girls I only had one that actually ate the store bought baby food...all children are different. My oldest would only eat what we did. I made her baby food from the food we ate. There are little manual baby food grinders you can buy. I have seen them at Toys R Us. You take a spoon full of the meat and grind it up...had some liquid to make it to the consistency she eats. Grind up the rice/noodles and vegetables. That is all my oldest would eat. It worked great when we went out to eat...I just took the grinder with me. Really portable..fits in a purse or diaper bag. My middle child would only eat the Carnation's Rice Cereal with Banana's. No other kind of baby food. I had to make her food also. My youngest ate whatever I put in front of her. She is NOT picky at all. Don't stress, just go buy a baby food grinder. If you put a lot of spices in your food, just take her's out before the spices. However, I must add, my children preferred to eat exactly what we ate. If she has never eaten a certain thing, make sure you just give her a little to see if she is allergic. I hope this helps.

Have you tried setting her in her high chair at the table with you when you eat? Get her used to a routine. My baby knows when shes in a high chair or we sit at the table shes about to eat. If I try to eat without her she throws a fit until I feed her. Ive heard it could take up to 15 tries before they accept certain foods. Just dont give up. The best thing for me has been to keep a steady routine. Good luck.

If she's of normal weight and seems satisfied with a bottle don't sweat it. Have you started her with cereal/pablum yet? I think rice is the first one. Maybe she doesn't like the flavor of the food your offering? I started with veggies like sweet potatoes and carrots. I started my son at 5 1/2-6 months because he had a huge appetite. I would say that unless she was severely behind in weight that waiting a few weeks won't make a difference. But if that's the case you should talk to her doc if she's below the weight percentile for her age.

My kids wouldn't eat it either. Have you tried homemade babyfood? Cook veggies/fruit until they are very tender and put them in a food processor. It is cheaper than buying babyfood anyway, and there are no preservatives. Also if you use organic fruits and veggies, you can be sure there are no pesticide residues in the food you feed your baby. You can find homemade babyfood recipes online. The only store bought jarred babyfood mine liked was fruit. But my kids are 5 and 2 1/2 now and love vegetables. They will eat a salad and raw veggies anytime you offer it. I know how strange right? I am not going to question it though.

We have never feed our daughter store bought baby food. I mean, have you tasted the stuff? No wonder she doesn't want to eat it. We made her baby food, and not only is it better for her, it was cheaper. We cooked veggies and fruit for her, then mixed it in our blender until smooth, then put the mix in ice cube trays and froze. I put the food cubes in a heavy duty zip lock bag and done- food for a month. She is now 11 months, and will eat everything we eat- including eastern, indian and chinese food.

i just went through the same thing with my 9 month old. She just stopped wanting to eat. It lasted about 2 1/2 weeks. It seemed no matter what happened or I did she would just get really mad. I wait until she has to be hungry... even if it is not on the set schedule. Babies will eat when they get hungry. It seemed like Ashley was holding out to nurse. It may be teething too that causes a loss of appetite. My advise is to keep trying. We also found she likes to eat in restuarants. Odd huh?!? Make sure you are eating at the same time as her. Try a different brand of food and textures. Have you tried a self feeder? She may be ready to handle her own food or not. All babies have their own pace they follow and schedule. (that is one of the hardest things for me to remember sometimes)
