My boyfriend & I have always driven small economy cars, but now that we have twin boys we physically need something bigger. His car can't even fit a carseat & my little Nissan Sentra holds our carseats, but because we are both so tall OUR seats are so far foward its dangerous. We are looking to combine our tax returns to get something bigger but here is the problem. We are unmarried & I have substancial credit but am not working. He is working & has been bringing in between $1500 - $2000/month (he's a bartender so it varies) but has NO credit. In fact, I think he has some medical bills that were turned over to collections, so probably not so hot credit.

He's an honest, hard-working man who has been at his current position for just over a year & still can't get a credit card. I don't want to bore you with lengthy details, but we need some kind of dealership in the north/NW metro that may be able to provide minimal financing for someone in a situation like ours.

I really hate driving with how dangerous it is to me, him, or anyone else in the front seats of our cars.

Any suggestions?

I wouldn't recommend going through a dealership for the financing at all. I was in the same situation when my car was totalled. I have terrible credit and couldn't find any dealership that would finance me for a loan with less than around 18% interest. I ended up going to Wells Fargo Financial and getting the loan with a much lower rate. Good luck with your search.
