Hi Ladies,

I just got a note from my son's pediatrician saying she will be moving her practice to Homestead . I was really down about this because I really looking forward to using her for my second child I am expecting in January . It's going to be hard for me to find someone that I like & was so good at what she did. Can anyone recommend me a pediatrician that they have been with for a while & are very happy with ? The kind of DR that takes the time to listen to you and answer all your questions no matter how behind they are in schedule ?

Thanks for your help!!!!

L.

I love Dr. Cadiz and Dr. Cotler @ Pediatrics Assoc in Coconut Creek. Located on Lyons & Wiles. But do expect to wait because they do take their time to listen to the parents they DO run behind schedule.
Good Luck!

Hi L.,
We moved here in 2005 and hated to leave our Dr. My neighbor recommended Children's Medical Association, ###-###-####. They have an office in Tamarac and Plantation and do a great job of getting you on short notice and they have Saturday and evening hours if you need them. We see Dr. Alan Louis, but there are 15 docs in the practice. I saw a handful until I deceided to stick with Dr. Louis. Best of luck with your second child!

Rio Vista Pediatrics on federal hwy-its just south of the tunnel. i don't know if that is too far for you, but i have a 3-yr old and an 18 month old. the practice is shared by two pediatric physicians: Dr amy Relkin and Dr. Nolan Berman. I personally have a preference for female doctors. i think they are a little more compassionate (my prejudices) anyways, i always feel my questions are answered and i am comfortable with them. I have only had to wait an extended time (1 hour) for an appointment maybe two or three times since we have been going the last three years. they are really good during non office hours and squeezing me in for emergencies. The staff is friendly and attentive. They are connected to Broward General Hospital. hope this helps. goodluck

We use Dr Day at Northwest Broward Pediatrics in Coral Springs (off Sample, behind Wings Plus). He is awesome and his office staff is really nice and very helpful. Dr Harrison there is nice too, and there's one other doctor but we've never seen him. They have an office in Margate as well, and both locations are open some evenings and weekends as well. Their # is ###-###-#### - give them a call and set up a consultation to check them out.

Hi L.,
My name is D. and I have a 4 1/2 yr old boy and my daughter is now 19 months. I love their pediatrician. His name is Dr. Renato Berger and his office is located in Coral Springs (close to Sample Road right next to the hospital). He is wonderful and works with another Dr. named Mary Kay that is also loving. They are very patient and stay with you until you have no more questions. My son has a Chromosome anomaly and I really need someone I can count on and that knows what he's doing. So I'm very happy with him. I started there right before my daughter was born. I had an "interview" with him and he came all 3 days I was in the hospital to check on my little one. He is also my son's Pediatrician, since the last one he had considered autism to be something related to the devil... so you can imagine what I've been through. Anyways, this Dr. is ver nice and is reachable 24/7.
###-###-#### is his number. They speak english, spanish and portuguese.

Good Luck.

Hi, L.!
Congratuations on expecting your second little bundle of joy! I, too, reside in Tamarac. We moved here last summer, and so we were seeking recommendations for doctor's even before we got here (a pediatrician, a pulmonologist and an ob/gyn since I had just found out I was pregnant with our second child). In any case, I was blessed to have family here already, one of my cousin's being a pharmacy tech. She knows TONS of doctors and hears about many others through her customers. She recommended Joel Cheresnick, who works with Coral Square Pediatrics on Riverside Drive. My cousin takes her son there, too. He has been amazing, and my daughter (3 years old) has never once been afraid to see him. He always carries stickers in his pocket, so I think that helps. :-) He really takes the time to go over things with us, not leaving us feeling like we've missed something. My husband really likes him, as well. He's been great with our seven month old, too, and will answer any questions or concerns we have. We think he is fantastic! And he had big shoes to fill because we, like you, adored our pediatrician up north, so finding someone just as great meant a lot!
Hope this helps! Good luck with your search and arrival of your little one in January!

Coral Square Pediatrics is wonderful. Dr. Cheresnik is awesome. He always answers every single question and never rushes. He's been a doctor for at least 20 years. A friend of mine had him as her Dr. when she was little and just loved him. She's 31. He's very relaxed which I just love. More importantly my son loves him, he always laughs for him, which he doesn't do for other people. I had several people including my OB recommend him before my son was born. The other doctor in his office Dr. Liang is very nice too. She's VERY thorough. Her approach is better safe than sorry. When my son was a newborn he used to curl his lip all the time. Which I didn't think anything of since babies in my family always do that, including myself. She sent him to the cardiologist to get checked for a cardio facial syndrome. It's a great office. I can't emphasize how happy I am with it. I just don't recommend the nurse practitioner in the office, Terri. I don't get the impression that she actually likes kids. My son cries every time he sees her. But we just never make appointments with her. Besides her the entire staff at that office ( doctors, nurses, and front desk girls) are awesome. It's located by Outback in Coral Springs, at Ramblewood and Riverside. Good Luck!

I forgot, they also have a 24 hour pager. If your baby is sick during non-office hours you can leave a message, and the on-call returns your call within 10 minutes.
