I would like everyones opinion. I have a 5 year old and an 11 month old. I have horrible pregnancys. I lose alot of weight due to sickness and I have recently been diagnosed with hypoglycemia and atshma(bad spelling). When do you think it would be a good time to start planning another child? We would really like to try for a boy this time.(cross my fingers and hope atleast). Thanks everyone

S., you have an 11 month old. just that should be a reason to wait a while, as well as bring your health conditions to some sort of a balance so you carry the pregnancy as best you can.
your healthcare provider should be able to tell you when that time is.
that said, I WANT A BOY TOO :(

I can understand why you're thinking "baby" again. I have a 12 month old and have been thinking the same lately. (Those late night feeding exhaustion sessions have faded!)
In my case, I'm 37. If I'm going to have another, I don't have the time to wait too long before I do. If you are younger, I would wait until you have your hypoglycemia and asthma under control at the very least.
As far as "spacing" the children, everyone has different views on how far apart. That wouldn't be my concern for you... your health would. You owe the children you already have to be a Mom in her best health before adding another pregnancy -- that by your admission would be difficult, to the mix.
Best of luck,
T.

I would recommend you talk it over with your OB before trying for another child, as you have problematic pregnancies. You don't want to risk your health, or the health of the baby.

I would say you need to take a good look at your nutrition and lifestyle habits and work toward making some big improvements before getting pregnant again. Asthma is a sign of dehydration. So you can greatly improve your condition by eliminating all other beverages and drinking a *minimum* of 64oz of plain filtered tap water between meals every day. Buy a water bottle that has ounces marked on the side so you can be certain you are getting enough. You should also eliminate dairy products gradually if you are currently consuming them.

As for the hypoglycemia, I am going to assume that you were eating a lot of processed foods and refined carbs for a long period of time. If you switch to a plant based diet with a wide variety of fruits and veggies, and eat 6 small meals (as your doctor probably advised) you will feel better and have more energy. I also recommend Juice Plus, a whole foods fruits and veggies concentrate in capsule, chewable, or gummie form to help get more raw fruits and veggies in your diet and achieve a better level of health quickly. Send me a private message for more info.

Besides drinking more water and eating more fresh fruits and veggies, I would say make exercise a daily priority. Aim for 30 to 45 minutes at least 4 days a week. If you're looking for a workout that will get your muscles, heart, and spirit in shape, try Ashtanga Yoga or Power Yoga at a local gym or yoga studio like Full Circle Yoga in Winter Park.

I think you should wait a little while before trying for a third. Maybe when your second is 2 or so. It sounds like you need to allow your body time to recover. I was also VERY sick with my son. I think I lost 6lbs. or more because I was so sick! If you want to try for a boy, you should look into Dr. Shettles method. I am using it right now to try for a girl. Keep your fingers crossed and I will keep mine crossed for you to get your boy!
