So, as you know I'm on bedrest, fortunatelly it is modified Bedrest, and I can do a couple things. But I still don't know how to deal with my toddler. He is hyperactive, when I say hyper I mean hyper. Fortunately I have my sister in law, who has given a complete 180!! and she has become a real rock for us to lean on!!! She helps a lot around the house, she is not looking for things I do wrong anymore, and she is another completely towards our child, she is caring, and compassionate and PATIENT!!! so she's been a real help, anyway, now she has a job (on campus) and her classes, so she can't be around much, and my mom is helping me with the office, that I cant leave unattended, so for @ least two crucial hours I'm alone!! and those are the hours I need to get my toddler ready for school. We have tried getting him ready before my SIL leaves, but by the time the bus comes, he looks a mess!! he likes to run around and play, and I can't chase him anymore. My husband says I should hire someone, (unfortunately there is no one else to help) for those two hours, but I think those two hours are too little, for someone looking for a job, and due to some unwise business decisions I don't think we can afford even that right now!!!
I don't know what to do, any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Also not related but a comment, since I'm on bedrest, I've been reading mamapedia nonstop. I feel addicted LOL!!

What can I do next?

Get him ready, then let him go. Kids are always a wreck at this age, so relax. Have you ever seen what they look like after school? You have more important things to worry about than this. Just take care of yourself.

Do you have a family church that could arrange some volunteers to come over and help? Or a social group you are a part of?

Can you ask a neighbor, who has a child on the bus too. we were in a simular but noot simular situation . My sitter could not come to my house anymore and she was awesome so I did not want to loose her.and my 7 yr old had 2 months to go in school and I asked my neighbor who I only knew in passing if they would mind and they steped up and was great I paid when and what I could and they told me I did not have to they had to be up then and out at the bus stop too so no big deal.

I do not think this temperary help would be too much and your SIL can drop him off on her way out. I would do it for any of my neighbors, this is what neighbors are for, right.

since he is riding the bus...can a neighbor watch him for a couple of hours in the morning. you can pay her or have your hubby mow her yard. work out some sort of trade. if not can you get a teen age neighbor kid to come over and help in the morning? if the times work out there are mothers day out programs that your son can go to. keep some outfits near your bed for clothes changes. its some what dangerouse for you to have your toddler alone at home while you need to be on bed rest. i wonder if a retired church lady could come help you...or man for that matter. the retired usually rise early in the morning. good luck.

I completely understand the whole bedrest thing, I was an OB nurse before being SAHM so I understand the importance of it. First and foremost your bedrest is important as it isn't going to last forever and it is for the health of your unborn child.

I guess what I don't understand is if the only problem your having is your kiddo gets a little "messy" before the bus comes, then what is the big problem. Who cares, he doesn't unless your making a big deal out of it. As I said before this isn't going to last forever and if someone thinks your kid looks a mess for school, there again who cares, when you get off bedrest and can do mommy duty again he won't be such a mess. As long as your child is safe while your on bedrest and he's not lighting the house on fire or playing in traffic (haha) it's fine. Don't strain yourself financially, it's only going to be a little bit longer.
