All Day Preschool in Hoffman Estates, Elgin, Algonquin, St. Charles Area

I'm starting to look for a preschool for my son but due to my part-time work schedule, I will most likely need an all day preschool, or preschool with extended care. I'm looking for a location somewhere between my home and my work/my husbands work. We live in Carpentersville, and I work in Hoffman Estates and my husband works in St. Charles. Any recomendations of a reasonably priced, quality all day preschool? Thanks!

My daughter when to the South Barrington Club for Preschool. It's off of Barrington Road just North of Higgins on Tennis Club Lane. The preschool is amazing and teachers are wonderful. They have weekly spanish and swim lessons and follow Barrington 220 curriculum. My daughter was reading at 4 years and even though we worked a lot on it at home I credit this preschool for really allowing her to take off. Another plus is that you get in-district rates on anything at the club. My daughter was enrolled in Kindercare prior to this preschool and the South Barrington Club was less money and better overall. They also serve a hot catered lunch and 2 snacks every day. Their hours are 7am - 6pm
Please let me know if you would like more info.

I live in your immediate area and when I was doing this research, I found places like Tutor Time or Kindercare. They are all-day child care facilities that focus on preschool-type learning. Outside of those, it was the usual 2 1/2 hr programs through the park districts or independent schools in church basements etc.

We personally went with Algonquin Preschool and loved them. They do offer class time extensions. For example, the morning preschool would start at 9:00 and end at 11:30, but you could extend it to 1:30, I believe, for an extra fee - but it wasn't available 5 days a week. They had 5 day a week program last year, but not sure if they are continuing that this year.

We also live in Carpentersville and were looking into different options earlier in the year. We are going with the deLacey School (part of D300) b/c it turns out my son still needs some more speech therapy...and b/c I talked to several moms who've had multiple children there and they loved it for many reasons. However, it is only a half-day program there. But I'd highly recommend Harvest Bible Chapel's preschool program. We otherwise would have enrolled him there. I've heard nothing but fabulous remarks about it and just this year they are expanding it so that it is preschool in the AM and then lunch and after-care for the afternoons for families that need it. We went to their open house back in Feb and loved their teachers & the environment. If you're not familiar with Harvest, it is on Randall Rd. about 5 min south of 90 - so I'd think it would be on your husband's way to work. :)

Check out Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Route 25 in St. Charles. It's unusual in that it is a church preschool, but offers a full-day program. http://www.bethlehemluth.org/ps-sched.php My daughter did not attend here, but I have heard good things about the program. I think their rates are reasonable as well.

I would highly reccomend Good Shepherd preschool in Elgin. It is off Rt 20 and Nesler Rd. My son went there (full time) for the last two years and they are WONDERFUL! They have before/after care as well as mixed age (3 & 4) classrooms. My son was in the pre-kindergarten class and I was amazed at what he learned. the number is ###-###-#### and Sue is who you would talk to :)
