6 Year Old Bday Party at Indoor Swimming Place -- Where?

My son wants an indoor swim party for his 6th birthday in May and I am trying to get a head start trying to plan!

Has anyone tried Great Wolf Lodge for this? Is it too big/too costly for such? Can you reserve an area of the huge place and pull this off successfully without losing your friends and family?

An an alternative has anyone used Emler? And what Emler location? When its possible some of these tots may or not swim well, which facility did you use that had the most attractions/things for kids to play on and see? Suggestions please!

We live in Coppell. I see some have used the Allen Natatorium but that seems a bit too far from Coppell to ask people to come too; plus, not knowing where everyone else lives as well I would feel bad asking so many people to travel far.

Can you give me some helpful info here.

What can I do next?

Another place you can try to a local hotel. Ours has an indoor pool and we can go swimming any time (unless they are sold out or if there is a party already going on ) for $3 a person. For birthday's you can bring whatever you want you just pay per person swimming.

Obviously, I'm not in your area..but wanted to suggest looking at your local community centers.
My son attended an indoor-swim party in Dec. at a neighboring community center that had an indoor pool complex and it was wonderful! Good luck!

My husband and I stopped by the Great Wolf Lodge to see what it was about. They showed us around and it was amazing. However, the way we understand it to be is in order for you to use their indoor facility you need to be staying overnight. It is not cheap, but if you and your immediate family were to stay overnight and have a birthday party there, maybe then they would let you do the party in the pool area. Give them a call. It really does look amazing. We are planning a family "stay-cation" there this summer.

I agree that Great Wolf is wonderful, but can be very expensive, especially for a bday party. Additionally, it does get quite crowded, so it might get hard to keep track of a group of 6 year olds.

Some other suggestions:
Coppell Aquatic and Rec does Pool Parties (and has an indoor pool) http://www.ci.coppell.tx.us/aquaticrec-center/reservation...

Check with the YMCA's in your area. The one closest to me has an indoor pool that is great. The parties are pretty resonable and you don't have to be a member to use the facilities for a party.

My niece had her 5th birthday party here:

They are open year round. Wonderful facility with an enormous pool- and slide! It is located off of the Tollway, so it's very convenient. Good luck!

Allen does have a fantastic facility but I agree it is a bit too far from Coppell to ask people to drive.

Check out Great Wolf, can't hurt. Also the local community centers may have options as well.

Good luck
