4th birth .. What was urs like ???
Pregnant with my 4th and wondering other people's experience . My other 3 were all natural and no inductions . #1 was 14 days past due date #2 was 11 days passed and #3 was 5 days . Also all 3 progressed pretty fast with 3rd being the fastest from my water starting to leak at 11pm .. Contractions starting at 1145 and baby born at 1 am . Wondering other people who had natural un medicated birth what there 4 delivery was like and if they were similar to other 3 or followed a pattern thanks
Every single birth was different. Even if you have a pattern that doesn't mean that pattern will be followed this time around. Child birth is like everything else in life. You plan for certain things and then fate steps in and throws your plans out the window.
I don't mean to scare you but my fourth came charging out. The doctor warned me but I brushed it off. I was in the shower feeling funny getting ready for church when I felt the need to push. Anyways baby was born perfectly healthy and alert and I was just fine.
1st seven hours
2nd 3 hours
3rd 3 hours
4th felt funny around 5:45pm. Not in labor. Doc said go to hospital. Still no contractions. First contraction at 7:45 pm. She was born at 8:17 pm.
My 4th birth was twins, which is a whole different ball game. They were induced at 37 weeks, which is typical as that's considered full-term for twins. Pitocin at 7 AM, first baby born at 12 PM and second 40 minutes later (he was sunny side up so it took longer). I was already in labor when we went in for the induction and if they were my kids I would have waited it out but I was a surrogate so it made sense to stick to the plan so the parents and doctor could all be there as scheduled.
My first 3 were all progressively shorter pregnancies, smaller babies and shorter labors...first was 9.2 lbs, 42 weeks and 22 hours of labor, 2nd was 8.12 lbs, 1 day shy of his due date and 8 hours, 3rd was 7.5 lbs, 1 week early and 5.5 hours of labor. Although there is no way to tell for sure and every pregnancy is different, if I were you I'd be ready to get started at the first signs of labor.

No drugs for any of my kids. Also, strangely enough, each of them was born EXACTLY 4 hours after my water broke.
1st - 7lbs 7oz. 3 weeks late, in a hospital with a doctor, I think my labor was 12 hours, but I only pushed for about 25 minutes. Gave birth sitting up with feet in stirrups UGH!
2nd - 7lbs 8oz. 3 weeks early, homebirth, 5 hours of labor. Again, I only pushed for about 20 minutes, gave birth on hands and knees.
3rd - 8lbs 4oz. 10 days late, homebirth, 15 hours of labor, pushed for 45 minutes. He had shoulder dystocia and I had to get on my hands and knees while the midwife re-positioned him. It's like pushing two heads out because I had to push both shoulders out at once, she had to cup her hands around his upper back/shoulders and ease him out. Had I been in a hospital, it could have turned into a c-section or a broken collarbone for him.
4th - 9lbs. 2oz. 10 days late, hospital birth with a midwife, 4 hours of labor, pushed for 20 minutes, birthed in the squatting position b/c she was so big.
The shorter labors were more painful, as labor came on fast and quickly progressed into transition. I learned deep breathing exercises by taking Bradley Method classes and they helped tremendously with pain management.
My aunt had 8 kids (one set of twins).
I'm not sure if they were medicated or not but with each child labor and delivery got shorter and faster.
Her body had lots of practice, knew what to do and did it - sometimes with little notice.
thanks everyone for ur responses.. im not scared of it going fast since I do home birth, just curious how it went for other women. the reason i said all natural is because , medication and induction can make things go slower than it would normally go on its own so wouldn't be so accurate.
1st = 4 hours....1 day late
2nd & 3rd = 3 hours....12 days early for both
4th = 40 minutes, wasn't even dilated ...went from 0-10 in 40 minutes, ouch, most painful .....6 days early
I have 4 kids. Not a single one was induced, and all vaginally. not sure what you mean by all natural....
My first was without pain meds. It was a breeze. However, they progressively got longer and worse. This is NOT the norm...but my 4th birth was so so so much harder than the other 3. I was minutes away from a c-section after pushing for hours. She was sunny side up and would not come out. They had to use the vacuum.
Seems like your births are consistent, but no one can predict how it will go. Like children, all births are different. Good luck for a fast and easy birth!!
