4 And 2 Year Old Joint Birthday Party

Okay moms...I consider myself pretty crafty and inventive...but I'm having a hard time deciding where to have my childrens (daughter will be 4 and son will be 2) joint birthday party this year. Because we have such a large family and because it's the middle of Aug, we no longer want to have it at our house. We've done a pool party and painting party (at our house last year). We also don't want to go broke having the party!! We've looked into local gymnastics locations where they host a party as well as Chucky Cheese. Am I missing any other type of party that would be good for those ages? The kids that will be there will be from newborn - ages 13! I just want to make sure I'm not missing an obvious place to go for a birthday party.

Another idea if I didn't want to invite EVERYONE (meaning all family) would be to have a birthday party with their friends/parents at some location then do cake/ice cream with family at our house at a later date. But we still have the issue of having such a large family that immediate family alone is 16 people plus us!! So I'd like to do something that everyone would enjoy *adults and kids*.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Got a few resposes so figured I'd clarify some....we DO NOT want to do it outside because it's so hot. We have a huge backyard and could do it there, but no one will go outside!! As far as having a 'large' one, there are 17 people on my husband's side of the family (that's immediate) and 3 on mine so if just family were invite, it'd be 20 people. Add in godparents and their kids, we're quickly approaching 30+ kids/people which we can't hold in our house.

Monkey Joes is at the top of my list for the party (like Pump it Up)...

Do you have a nearby park? That's were I would do it. Get there early to stake your claim in the picnic area and decorate it with balloons and streamers. There invite everyone for a BBQ. Cheap, and a lot of fun for all the kids!

I had a joint party for my girls together when they turned 5 and 2. It was at Pump It Up, which was lots of fun. We've been to a few at Monkey Joes as well, which the kids love. I like Pump It Up because only the people from your party are in each room with you (you rotate to 2 or 3 different rooms to climb, bounce, and slide, then have cake). At other bounce places, there might be several parties plus open play time going on, so it gets a little chaotic. Also, adults were allowed to slide and jump at Pump It Up but not at Monkey Joes.

Do it at Pump It Up or one of those places that has a ton of bounce houses. Kids LOVE bounce houses! We have a bounce house every year for my girls' parties, and it's ALWAYS a hit!

Adults love bounce houses too, btw. LOL

I would do it together. Why is it that you have to have a big birthday every year for the kids? Why not continue to have it at your home with just family? Seems logical to me and yep you'll save some money.

Ummm seems like you could cut down on the guest list...and Monkey Joes and Pump it Up are expensive. if however, all those people have to be there then you will need to be willing to spend the $$. Seems like you've answered your own question.
