My son is 2 months old and he has been spitting up out of his nose when he tries to poop! Now, he has been very constipated since birth, so his doctor and I tried to be more natural about it and give him some diluted pear juice daily! Whenever he poops, he grunts and strains, even if the poop is soft and now he is spitting up alot when he poops! Sometimes, it seems like it is a couple of ounces! I called his doctor, but she was out of the office and is supposed to call me in the morning! Has anyone else experienced this?

What can I do next?

My daughter(2mos) was also constipated but because of that and more serious reasons like colic we switched formula's to Nutrimigen and it's like night and day a completely different baby, absolutely no consitpation, gas, upset tummy, or spit up. Talk to your doctor about switching formulas maybe.

Hi S., Sorry this is so late...the best thing that worked for my son, now 13 months, was to take him to the chiropractor. At one time he did not have a bowel movement for 8 days! We tried pear juice too and it did not work at all. We started taking him to the chiropractor a few times until we got him straightened out and it has never been a problem since and he hasn't had to go back to the chiropractor either. We didn't experience the spit up through the nose, but the chiropractor should help with the constipation. Hope this helps you and good luck!

Try baby magic tea to soothe him from constipation and it will normalise his bowel movement, I am sure.

I would recomend a product from market america called Ultimate Aloe Juice. This helps with digestion and will help with the constipation. Several of my friends are on it and have thier babies on it. I just ordered some for my son. He is 7 and has bad contipation. He loves it. It comes in 4 flavors but the srawberry kiwi is the best. A friend of mine gives it to her 4 month old. I would suggest giving a baby 1 oz and an adult 1-2 oz daily. There are many studies showing the beneficial effects of Aloe in promoting gastrointestinal health. You can find it at www.marketamerica.com/pamrorman
hope this is helpful

Hi S., My daughter has been constipated since birth, she is now 15 months old. We used to give her 1-2 OZ or prune juice in her morning bottle. We still give her prun juice every morning, we just don't measure it anymore! We have tried many things over the last 15 months, and only the prune juice seems to do it.
Good luck!
