10-Month Old Desperately Needs a Haircut

Does anyone know of a good place in Valley Ranch/Coppell to take my 10-month old son for a haircut? I'm scared to death to try it myself. I don't even know how a professional could do it. He reaches for everything and is constantly moving.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for your advice. I truly appreciate it. We took our son to Fun Cut 4 Kids in Lewisville on Saturday. He did very well. They sat him in an airplane seat and played a video for him. He just stared at the video the whole time. The stylist was very careful to keep his hair form falling to the ground and keeping it for us. She also have us a certificate for his first haircut. I was somewhat sad afterwards because he doesn't look like a baby anymore...he looks like a little boy. A cute little boy, of course. Thanks again!

Hi S.,

Where ever you decide to go, take a handful of suckers in your purse and give him one as soon as they sit him in the chair. It works wonders with my son....it's the only time he ever gets a sucker, so he sits very still, concentrating on the sucker the whole time!

I also go to Fun Cuts 4 Kids in Lewisville next to the Babies R Us (in the shopping center with Spring). I have never had to wait very long, which is more than I can say for the Cool Cuts in Carrollton. Also, the haircut just takes about 5 or 10 minutes. I always ask myself why I am paying for a 5 minute haircut, but in the end I realize I will mess up my daughter's hair if I try to do it myself. So, it is worth it.

I do not know of a place. I do have an idea. Make it a father son outing and send them together. This is a great opportunity for your son to depend on his father and see his love. You also get two hours free.

For my son's first haircut (when he was about 10-11 months old) we took him to the barbershop in old Downtown Coppell. It's a really old fashioned place and he did a good job on the haircut (it made for some great pictures).

Now I take my son to Fun Cut 4 Kids in Lewisville ###-###-####) - off 3040 near Babies R Us. The man there, Greg, is wonderful. They have cool chairs (like a fire truck) and tv's so they can watch a movie while they get a haircut. That's the place I'll continue taking my two boys.

Good luck!
C.
