Plugged Duct Stress and Dehydration?

I just came home after being at my mothers for Christmas with a knot under my armpit and I was told that it was a plugged milk duct. Anyway it has gone down I was just wondering if it was because I carried my LO almost constantly in and out of an Ergo for pretty much the whole duration of my visit. In addition to being stranded in airports for hours on end with little to drink. The reason I carried my LO was that whenever anyone would come near her she would cry and scream for me. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar experience?

Amtrak to Michigan

I am considering taking the Amtrak train from Dallas to Grand Rapids, Michigan in May 2009 with my 11 month old son. has anyone ever taken an extended train trip like this that would like to share their thoughts? I figure it will be much easier than flying since he's never flown and will still be breastfeeding. I am finding that taking the train would mean we'll be traveling throughout the night so I'll need a cabin for sleeping. any thoughts on how to save money on the train ticket? a flight is about $400 and the train is $600.

Preparing a Mom, I Mean, Infant for Daycare

My 6 month old will be starting daycare to my dismay next week. As I'm scrambling to think of everything I need to do in preparation, I feel like it isn't enough.
