Wow, I Just Learned Something!

My mother-in-law said years ago that the easiest way to get rid of slugs was to put beer in a saucer and set it down in the garden. They will crawl in and expire. She said they probably die happy that way.

I have no helpful hints but I bought 2 pairs of shoes today (Guess and Roxy) for $22.98 and SAVED $90-some-odd dollars! The Guess heels were originally $110!! Thank you DSW for making this mama happy!! :)

Last year I learned the apple cider vinegar is a great fruit fly catcher.

Take a small bowl, put about 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar in it and a drop of dishwash liquid. Works wonders!!

All I do is put some cider vinegar in a shallow bowl, and put a few drops of dishwashing liquid in it... don't stir it up to make bubbles, though.

The dish soap breaks the surface tension... the fruit flies land on the cider vinegar and sink down, drowning. It is amazing how many you can catch that way!

I always just use the vacuum. It is so easy and quick

I have to use the rolled up paper, just the bowl of vinegar did nothing. I'll have to try adding the banana to see if that helps!

Same idea but use red wine or balsamic vinegar. I prefer red wine bc it works almost immediately.

I've used cut up fruit, or I had cantaloupe rind the other day, I've used bits of honey and I put them in a mason jar or empty jar with a lid. Then I leave it out a couple of days and BAM, whip the lid on & let the slowly suffocate. Then when I know they're dead I 'rinse and repeat' till they're all dead. I've used banana peels too. They are annoying little things and it seems it takes forever sometimes to get rid of them all but this method works really well for me. At one point I had 3 jars going, LOL. Now they're all gone.

Thanks for the link, always love finding new ways to do things. Oh wow, I just looked at that and that's way better than what I do because no matter how fast I slap that lid on, some escape. Thus the 3 jars the other day. This is great.

Last summer I learned the apple cider in a bottle idea (from the mama's here)...but it didn't work.
I will have to add your other ingredients and see if that helps! :)

I use water & vinegar & it works great!
