I absolutely love coming here, sometimes 2-3 times a day! The advice that is given is of true value, and there is a wide variety of it!! Some people have been a little harsh with answers to people, and i can only hope that those few people can gain the ability to look outside the box, and actually see that they are not being constructive, but shunning themselves from anyone wanting advice from them. This is a constructive advice site. Even if you think you are being honest with your advice, you might want to think that whoever reads it is getting a picture of what you are really like. "Look outside the box"!

Thanks to everyone who has answered my "few so far" questions (more to come..LOL) , and I hope everyone has an amazing weekend!! Off to shop for me..LOL..im always last minute.

xoxoxo to all!!
Happy Easter!

So What Happened?

Thank you for the well wishes for Easter as well!! I think i stirred something up, which was really unintentional. I by no means stated that EVERYONE was offended by harsh comments. I did say ANYONE, when i should have said SOME people might take offense to that. My mistake. And SOME people are just that...people, and they count just as much as ANYONE. There can be criticism, and then there can be downright obnoxious and nasty. Ive seen a few people be like that on here. I have seen many messages on here and requests for similar things that i have been through or dont agree with because of our situation. But i wont comment on those because i dont feel like i could be constructive for that person. Some people like to hear themselves be nasty, makes them feel powerful. I wont be harsh to someone that is looking for advice.. thats not what they are looking for, they are looking for an answer or support. I wish you all well. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.

I agree that this website is a great resource for moms and that things should be kept positive and productive. I have not seen a lot of "harsh" responses, however, I disagree that if people "don't have anything nice to say" then they shouldn't say anything at all.

If I have a problem I need help with, I want to get all the advice that's out there--good, bad or indifferent. I would certainly hope that people would give me all available advice and would not ignore my post because they are afraid they would hurt my feelings. Of course, it is always important to say things in the nicest way possible...but I am just going to put it out there that anyone responding to my posts can feel free to tell me like it is! I would much prefer that to a sugar-coated response that has ideas omitted for the sake of my feelings.

Now I am probably sounding too harsh--I don't mean to. But, let's remind ourselves that this is an online source of information. You have to weigh the advice that you get very carefully no matter the manner in which it is delivered--then decide what works for you and what doesn't. Someone who is very "nice" to you in a response may have terrible advice, whereas someone who is more "harsh" might have the best advice out there--and vice versa. If you take offense to what someone in cyberspace says--that is just silly--delete or disregard that response and move on to one that fits you better.

I don't mean to offend K. H or anyone who responded in agreement with her...but I think its unfair to make a blanket statement that assumes that everyone who posts here would be offended by a harsh response. I certainly wouldn't--I want to hear it all, and if you ask me, that is true "outside the box" thinking.

Thanks for your posting K. H and I too hope everyone reading this had an awesome Easter! I love sharing ideas and having a forum where we can discuss our roles as moms! We all have our different styles...and thank god we do or life would be so boring!

HAPPY BELATED EASTER. I want to add my two cents here since I have just experienced a MAJOR problem with communicating through email aka CYBERSPACE. Email communications are very difficult to perceive the senders tone and body language
and each person's interpretation of the senders message can be viewed differently. So in all fairness to those reading & posting, ask yourself how you would like to see a response? For myself, I'm a straight shooter, no sugar coating it, say it how it is and that my cyberfriends has caused me a lot grief with in-laws & other females over the years. I too am guilty of being 'harsh' though I don't think of it as that. All in all...advice is just that advice. Take it or leave it, pick it apart and mold it to your likings and what works or what you believe will work for you. And don't be offended if someone has or says something totally off the wall...each to his/her own beliefs and view.

Okay now, everyone can go off on me :)

So K., not to be harsh here, but I'm wondering if it ever crossed your mind that your husband's ex might've sent you an invite to this site so that she could get additional info as to what's going on with your family on here? Even if you were annonymous (which it doesnt look like you're trying to be here), there's enough info in your profile for her to figure out it's you.

Happy Easter to y'all too! Now the kids are all hoppy from all the Easter candy?!

Happy Easter to you too! I feel the same way. I love the questions that are asked and the advise that is given. I have been given some great advise on the questions that I have asked and feel that I have been able to give some as well. I agree that some people are too harsh, in fact I did say that on a post not too long ago. This website has been made to help each other, not to pass judgement! Enjoy the free advise and the care that each of these women give, it is a gift. If you don't agree with what people are doing, don't say anything. My mother always said, (and I am sure a lot of you have heard this as well) if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all!

Thank you K. for bring that up and Happy Easter to you and your family!
