Well the first born seems to be easy compared to my little trouble maker 2 child!!! My goodness she is almost 7 months old and does not tollerate being on her belly so will not crawl. Did anyone go through this with theirs? Got any ideas? We (my WHOLE family) have gone as far as getting on the floor ourselves, rolling over, ect. . . If I was training family at this point they all have passed!!!! HA-HA But my little stinker will have none of it. She thinks its a hoot watching all of us but she hates it. Thanks to any who have any ideas!!!

Crawling is a developmental milestone. You can't force it. Celebrate the milestones she has reached. 7 months is early for crawling. Give her some time.

My daughter is the same way. She just turned 8 months and hated being on her stomach - she just started rolling over and actually falling asleep on her stomach 3 days ago - before that she always slept on her back. She has been getting up on her kness and starts to crawl and then falls on her belly. She gets pretty frustrated and fusses but that is how they learn. Don't worry about it though - my niece is 1 and a half and she never crawled- she just started walking at 8 and a half months. Sounds like you are doing everything that you can do.

7 months is still on the early side to crawling...some babies don't crawl until 10months and others don't crawl at all. if you are really concerned you could always see at PT and they can help. good luck and don't worry, they are all on their own schedules! :)

My daughter never crawled, and didn't walk until 16 months old. She just rolled everywhere she wanted to go. If everything else seems to be developping normally, then just let her go at her own pace.

Your post made me laugh - my older daughter was just like that! Being on her tummy made her FURIOUS! She would scream and scream until her little face was purple, and we would have to "rescue" her. She refused to roll over, either. What she really, really wanted was to walk. At about 3 months old if you put her standing up in front of something (couch, ottoman, whatever), she'd stand upright for 10 minutes or so, bouncing up and down. At around 7-8 months, she would pull herself up on a coffee table or chair and stand there grinning/drooling from ear to ear. She learned to walk super early (9ish months). She never did crawl. To this day she is very athletic and has a very type-A personality.

Some babies just have different ideas about how things ought to be - sounds like you have one of those! She'll crawl if and when she feels like it. Meanwhile help her stand up and see if she likes that. She might rather stand up and walk, than crawl.

7 months is very young to be crawling.
My first didn't crawl until age 1.

Give her time, remember milestones have a HUGE spread (example normal walking is like 10months-18 months) give her time..

My little guy did not crawl until 9 months, then started walking at 10months - so be careful what you wish for. Continue to encourage tummy time - it is so important.

Some children are just content with not moving around much - but it is definitely too early to worry. :)

My son took a long time to crawl. We would put his favorite items just out of his reach, and he would roll from front to back to front, around and around, and get to them that way. So much for that approach! Eventually he crawled and went to walking pretty quickly after that. He has turned out to be very athletic and coordinated (and I'm not just saying that as his mom -- I swear!). No harm, no foul. Our neighbor's youngest scooted around on his bottom (very quickly, I might add) all around the house. I don't think he ever crawled. He walks and runs just fine, now. I would (non-scientifically) suggest that you continue tummy time just so that she can strengthen those muscles (on a fun play mat perhaps?) and try not to worry about if/when she crawls. She is still quite young. All the averages you see for milestones are just that -- averages. You can have a wide dispersion of data points with not a single one at the average; it's just a mathematical construct. At least it sounds like she has a great sense of humor!

My daughter NEVER crawled. She didn't have a problem being on her belly, but she also never made the slightest effort to crawl. She started "cruising" around at 8 mos or so and walked at 10 mos. Maybe your #2 just won't be a crawler.

All of my sons were like that. They HATED tummy time. I would force it on them for a few minutes and them roll them back over and wipe their tears away. They crawled on average at 9 months, once they were able to roll themselves over and get on their hands and knees they no longer hated tummy time.
She'll get it.

My daughter didn't crawl until after 8 months and that seemed pretty normal, but of course I wanted it sooner. I have 4 friends with kids the same age and it was about the same age for all of them. We helped her learn to crawl by putting things she really liked just out of her reach (cell phone, snacks). I think it helped, but I think babies just do everything in their own time.
