I have been researching air purifiers to help with family's indoor allergies. And have found the following as best rated:
IQAir HealthPro (not the Plus which gives strange odors according to the reviews)
Austin Health Mate
Blue Air.
All are Hepa filters, which seems highly recommended over the ionic ones.
Do you use any of these and have you seen any improvement in allergic coughs and sneezes?

We use the EcoQuest Fresh Air model. We bought it from a friend (don't worry, I'm not a dealer so I don't have anything to gain by this, haha!) who sells them and I am so happy with it! It even kills mold!
It's an ionic purifier but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I have a whole house electrostatic air filter. It really does cut down on the dust and such. We are mostly allergic to dust mites so it helps us. What works best is probably determined by what you are allergic to.
I have an AirSource from Shaklee. It uses ozone and a tri-metalic plate to purify the air and remove particles from the air. Most particles go right through the hepa filters. It kills mold, mildew, bacterial and viruses. One unit does 3000 square feet.
I have two Austin filters. I used them in another house --they are about a year old. And in great condition. PM me if you are interested, I would love to sell them. One is pink and their smaller version (for one room) and the other is black and for maybe the entire downstairs. You can read more about them online.
