When to Start with Training Pants?

I won't be starting on potty training until the fall, but I'm wondering when to start with training pants? I've read that a little person should be able to pull his/her pants down before potty training. So, how many months prior should I start? My son will be 2 in August. Thanks much.

What can I do next?

hey pullup are awaste of money go right foe the big boy pants you will no when he ready by he wakes up dry from nap or bed my second daughter was ready befor you could pull her pant down by her self but she hated anything wet or yuk to touch her so when you think he is ready try the 30 min rule set a watch or clock to go off every 30 min and when it dose go sit him on the potty for a few min if he dose not go try again in 30 he will catch on good luck

pull ups are only an expensive diaper...
My son was over 3 before he wanted to potty train and all the diapers / pull ups in the world couldn't make him train any faster... Yes, I did use pull ups for a bit with him. But He didn't get the concept until he was put in the unders. Totally different feel... And its easier for them to pull down fabric unders and clothes than padded diapers/ pull ups.
Good luck and let him take it at his pace...

If you want your child to practice pulling up and down their pants you don't need training pants simply have them help get themselves dressed!

I can't really answer your question...I just have some advice. I DO NOT recommend pullups. My son was late to potty train (over 3), which was fine with me. The problem I had with pullups is that they must feel like diapers to children. Once he was ready to use the potty, he was ready and the only time he went in his pants was when he wore pullups, but if I had him in underwear, he didn't (I put him in pullups during the night, but not for long).

How old is you child? They usually start to pull their pants down on their own way before potty training begins. It is not really something you work on.
