Two things come to mind. One, you are working on retail already. I assume that means at store level. Have you given much thought to corporate level retail? I went from store to corporate and loved it. There are several major retailers headquartered here in the metroplex, and they love to hire people who have store experience. It really makes sense for them to have people who understand what it is really like out there in the field. You might get a job as a buyer's assistant, or in allocations or inventory control, loss prevention or any number of things that would draw upon your experience. I really enjoyed merchandise replenishment. Companies I can think off just off the top of my head with HQs here are Sally Beauty Supply, J.C. Penney, Michaels, Radio Shack, and Pier One, but I know there are others. If you go a whole new direction then jump in the deep end and do something you LOVE. What are your hobbies? Any hobby can lend itself to a career. There are community college programs centered on child development, television, radio and film, even art or wine!
