Hi Ladies
I am looking for ideas. Our 11 year is this Saturday. I need ideas on what to get for my hubby. He works in the jewelry business so the gift from him to me is always an easy one (something that sparkles) However I NEVER know what to get him. Money is not a big thing in our household so whenever he or I want something, we just go buy it. He is a big fisherman and owns about 20 fishing poles, has a boat etc. We are really outdoory people. I do need to add that a month or so ago our a/c and furnace went out so we agreed that we would keep the gifts to about $20 or $25. I got a sitter that night for our 22 month old and we are going to sushi and a scary movie but I dont know what to buy for him.
Only thing I can think of is a CD (which he doesnt need) a movie or some new clothes....all of them I think are LAME ideas.
Would like to add that we dont see eachother too much. I work M-F and he has a sporatic schedule so he works most weekends...if he IS off a weekend we are usually travelign to see our family since they are not from the Cincy area.
we love hiking and alot of outdoor activites, but that doesnt mean I need an outdoor idea..something romantic or unique is what I am thinking of (not some lame CD or movie :)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for your advice. I took it. I bought him a card....unfortunatley I felt bad that he came home with 2 boxes from TIffany..but not that bad :):) We had a great night out..I paid for it on Sunday from staying up way to late.

If we can afford it, my husband and I usually buy a gift that we both want, last year we bought ourselves a new mattress.
I say, if your spending under $30, you might be able to buy a piece of lingerie to surprise him with since you will have the night out. ;) I know, Im a perv, but men love it! Well, mine does anyways.

Just have a fun date night.

My hubby and I don't do the gifts to each other on the anniversary, bday, etc. If there is something we want or need throughout the year we just buy it.

One thing I strongly suggest is a weekely date night. We have rarely missed one and now we save money, LOL because our daughter babysits. We spent $60-$80 a week CASH on a sitter but it was well worth it. We enjoy date nights at fine restaurants, wine tastings, golfing, sporting events, etc. Sometimes a long walk makes for a great date night.

Enjoy!!

How about 11 small things that mean something from each year like:
1. snow globe or key chain from where you honeymooned at
2. keepsake to represent your first child
3. something to represent your first home
4. your first big fight what was it about get something for that
etc .... over 11 years there has got to be memory GOLD in there and that is something that could be fun to see the look of the memory wash over his face. Anniverasries are to remember what it took to get there and be glad you are where you are so why not commemerate that accordingly?

Take him somewhere special. Something like you used to do when you were still dating, waaaay before that baby. Doesn't have to be expensive. My hubby and I celebrated our 11th this year by going on a hike, and going to dinner at a place WE like to go without Kiddo. :)
